Anxiety / Depression

I have been blessed with a phenomenal sense of humor; that is what keeps me going. I even go so far as to make fun of and lampoon my depression and on Facebook I make "jokes" about being depressed. It helps me cope.

 

From a man who has been stabbed, shot, and blown up I’ve tried it all! Flash forward years of fruitless attempts the only thing to relieve my issues are marijuana.

 

My therapist was 180$ a visit. Too expensive for me so I don't go anymore.

I grew up in Ludlow but live in wilbraham now and have for the last 16 years. Off of Main Street by WM academy. Whereabouts are you now?

 

I remember going sledding there! And the peach festival and friendlys ice cream!

The ones stating that therapy etc is too expensive and booked out months at time.... You’re correct with about any city I can think of , but you’re looking in the wrong places if those things are an issue. Search city programs for mental health etc etc. Many states and cities have free therapy and mental health services under the camouflage of what you’d think was a large private corporation. Then once you look into them , they’re pretty much ran on state , city and federal tabs. Example here in Nashville...... I go through Mental Health Cooperative “MHC”. When I had no insurance and was broke af I got services through them. Once I got insurance back my options there became a little better , but with no insurance it was about the same. Free therapy , NP’s that do med evaluation and write prescriptions with their Drs approval. They have case managers that can help navigate your scheduling and keep your treatment plan up to date etc. As long as you follow your treatment plan they’ll keep you in service for nothing. If you miss appointments and dodge your case manager you’ll get put out of services and have to reapply. “ I get kicked out a few times of year.” LOL

 

My anxiety and depression is ruining my marriage. I have had constant headaches, neck and should pain for almost 14 years, I wake up with them and fall asleep with them. Being in constant pain for all of my 30s and now into my 40s has really taken a toll of her patients, our pocket book, and my mental health. She is to the point that she is not able to deal with me at all anymore. I have seen so many stupid drs, been on so many different drugs, I can't sleep, I barely eat. I'm to the end of my rope.

what was your diagnosis? any?

 

I know the feeling I'm divorced my ex made it a point to bring up all my mental health issues in court. Even though that had nothing to do with why we got divorced.

 

I have always had anxiety issues, but my newest neurologist diagnosed my headaches as "sudden onset constant headaches". Guess it's a new thing and he prescribed me Emgality for them. I was glad he didn't call them migraines because they are not and he is the only dr I have found that didn't just lump me in that group.

 

Also, look into Catholic Charities if they are in your town. They provide a wide variety of social services and you don't have to Catholic to request assistance.

And I promise, they won't try and convert you.

How long have you been on Emgality ? Is it helping?

 

Sorry you're going thru this.
I'd definitely keep looking for help. Maybe a massage therapist would help with the sore neck, or maybe you already see one.
A pet sometimes helps with anxiety.
Have you changed your diet at all? Maybe some sort of work out routine would help a little. Nothing strenuous, maybe just walking a mile or two a day.
Just know that there is always hope. You never give up, ever.

 

I've only taken the first months dose and the next is coming up next weekend. I feel like it helped a bit but not much yet
