Any Civil War Buffs on TW?

I'm surprised that the Salt Kettle isn't being kept at an indoor location like a museum. You would think that a 150-year-old iron kettle would have rusted away by being kept outdoors.

Last week I towed a U-Haul trailer full of stuff to my sister's house in Baton Rouge.

A came back through Georgia and decided to visit Andersonville. It's an amazing place; you should visit there if you ever get a chance.

 

My Great Grandfather (x3), Pvt. Robert Cornelius Kennerly fought in the war. He fought with the 57th North Carolina (mustered out of Rowan County, NC) throughout the war. He was captured on the first day at Gettysburg and was taken to Pointe Lookout, MD. He was paroled there and returned home. My family still owns a portion of the farm he owned when he left to fight.
