Are there any disadvanages to wheel spacers? Probably a newbie quesiton but I just had the rock lifted off me.

The only thing I can think of is the wheels falling off if you buy cheap. OUCH!!!

I don't have experience with them...

The overall rumor is they can cause more pressure/wear on your wheel bearings.

Obviously, it depends on what you need them for and how big you need. I would think, the farther away the mounting surface is from the bearing - the worse it'll be for the bearing. You should research and take into consideration the cost versus buying new wheels with different offset or even adding an additional lift.

Be careful what material you buy and the 'studs' that hold it all together - could make the difference between a safe ride and a dangerous one.
