A couple of CJ5's and a couple CJ7's. They were okay... when they ran.

You're funny, I have three Tacos and none of them are as capable as my XJ was with 31" tires. It was also way cheaper to put my XJ on 37s than it would be to get any of my Tacos to run 37s.

Great now you can have a reliable, comfortable, quieter daily driver so you can buy a TJ for those days when you want to drive around in an open top.

Thank you for that, I will definitely be taking my 2008 to Colorado instead of the 2016.

D44 out of what? I'm with mmrocek, I'd be cautious before pulling the trigger on something like that.

I said the same thing about my 34" Super Swamper LTBs and somehow I have 37" Maxxis Creepy Crawlers now.

Came from a Wrangler 2 door. The thing was sweet, I do miss taking the top and doors off from time to time. I also miss the manual 4wd actuator. All said and done though the other 95% of the time the Tacoma is a more comfortable and practical vehicle for me. I wouldn't stop myself from getting rid of it for the Tacoma if I could.

That's not even what we are talking about. Additionally you likely never tried pushing your taco as hard as your XJ. Moot points.

You're right I've never pushed my Tacos as hard as my XJ, I like my Tacos too much for that. However, a destroyed set of step rails, gouged up All-Pro skid plates, and rock rashed axle say that I have pushed that Taco.

Which point do you prefer to make that both the Taco and the JK have to be modified for bigger tires, that both have issues with the factory lockers, both have too much horse power for their front axles, or maybe that both are using minivan motors that look good on paper but not on the trail. This one is even better: One is almost guaranteed to have a recall for frame and leaf spring issues the other will probably end up with a recall for possibly catching fire.

DFA1 just needs to figure out what is important to him, I love wheeling and the outdoors so for me it is better to have a dedicated wheeler and a 4wd pickup to I can do any trail I want or I can comfortable drive from Texas to Wyoming to go hiking because those are two mutually exclusive things at my budget level. The pickup also opens the door to ATVs and Dirt bikes, muddy dogs can ride in the bed, and it makes home improve store trips easier.

Nah just get another taco and turn that one into a crawler. Jeeps are nothing but a shadow of their former glory.

Yeah I'm not big into wheeling. I just like hunting, fishing and camping. Love all my gear and my big DCLB toybox

Locker mod, fog light on, seatbelt chime, map lights on& led so far.
The whole time I had a Jeep, I also had a truck. Loved my Jeep, went anywhere, lockers, cage, 35 mtz, sliders, bumpers, the whole package. But now that I have this yota I want to build it to wheel. But it's still my truck. I have the same fire to build this as I did my Jeep. I'll rock it out and see where it goes.

I loved my 2015 JK. Signed up with the chrysler affiliates program, bought it, kept it for 6 months and sold it for a very nice price... would repeat indefinitely if possible.

I had a 98 TJ (2.5L automatic) that I absolutely loved, but it was highly impractical for daily driving...... My 4cly Tacoma has MUCH better road manners and fuel economy, even if slightly less capable in stock form.

    011_15_3faf7071bd50bf03b7e0ecd84b3a9a991cf3d323.jpg

I'd like to pick up a bone stock base model TJ to drive around with the doors off, in the event that we ever get my wife's student loans paid off. That is if my brother doesn't talk me into buying his Miata...
