I think it's a shame that we (Taco owners) have to be concerned about frame. We should not even have to check for rust. This is the first vehicle I have ever owned that I had to keep an eye on my frame.

These types of threads give me horrible nightmarrs lol

My 09 has minor surface rust, on the welds and where its scraped on rocks, but nothing I'm remotely concerned about I've brought heavily scaled steel back to life hundreds of times, if I think its going to be an issue I'll just bringing to work pull the bed off sandblast the frame and coat it in some cold-tar and call it a day

Rustoleum rust converter not paint ;)

Ive used everything paint wise on my truck from industrial Sherwin Williams Chem Bond HD to Benjamin Moore Super Spec HP Aliphatic Acylic Urethane Gloss w/ a catalyst.

I asked the pro's in our local and none of the guys I know who paint steel commercially use POR-15.

2009 owner with surface rust but nothing serious. I been getting it Krowned (rust proofed) yearly and it really seems to be helping.
