Any Game Bird Raisers Out There???

    I'm interested in this as well. A friend who started out with a few chicks just brought home some Spanish turkey hatchlings 2 weeks and they are pretty cool looking. We have no experience raising them and pics would be awesome if people had any.

    I get quail chicks in late Aug..Forty or so 48x48 x12 pen off the ground with a top to keep the sun off em. clean water and lots of high pro $ food. Start using them in OCT.to get the dogs standing for upcoming hunts. Hope this is some help. Jim

    thanks man. what do you think about this

    10 wide x 20' long x 6' tall for about 60 chuckars??? it will look simliar to this but a little bit more beefy er do keep out the coyotes and skunks.

    Looks good, what is the top made out of ? down here large flight pens have to have a good top, hawks & owls, the ones i have seen are chicken wire all over. hope this helps . Jim

    thanks mans i was going to just 1" or 2" flight pen netting at the top.

    but anyways is elevating the floor the best way to prevent issues? because i have another idea:

    build a 10' wide x 30' long x 8' tall and i wanted it to lift it of the ground about 1-2'. but i wanted about 30 phesant and 50-60 chukar. will this pen work for rasing them for their whole lift?

    4 ftx4ft x1 tall but thats for quail (small ). 30 phes. & 60 chukars need alot of room like pic in post #4. Have you added up what its going to cost to feed all of em? What are you going to do with em if i can ask? hunt or sell em ? Jim

    wow dude isnt that a little small for quail? basically im asking does a pen need to be big enough for them to fly( talking about quail)

    my plans are to hunt them up with my best buds:cool:. theres not many wild birds up here in northern utah

    and dont worry man im not new to raising and or hunting.
