Called the pawn shop close to where I work and all they had was a snap on over my budget. Ended up stopping at lowes and picked up the kobalt for $30 and a new hose.
it says on the box 3 year hassle free guarantee. Its a whole lot heavier than the craftsman I wore out.

This has been a very helpful thread. Since I'm a beginner and that Kobalt impact was only $30 with that kind of guarantee, I'm gonna start there. Thanks much, guys. You've helped me quite a bit.

If you already have a decent air compressor, then I'd go air powered for working on an automobile. You just have to make sure you have the right coupling to match the air hose you have and you're good to go. Make sure you put oil in the gun before connecting to the air hose!

I think the biggest problem is that they just dont work well out of the box. You gotta oil them real good and let it run for a while to get the bearings and what not really oiled up. My craftsman didnt work very much at all when i first got it but after a few times it seemed a lot better.

The $30 kobalt impact worked great. Way more torque than the craftsman I was using.
It had no problem with the 19mm bolt on the bottom of the front shock.

I like the IR air impact guns, my current one is over a decade old, while my old snap-on is 30 years old. Buy a good one, and it should last the rest of your life, buy a cheap one and rebuy it every year.
