I started a thread over the weekend asking the same thing. I think the nitto ridge grapplers offer the most aggressive tread with the least road noise, and will likely be my choice. Going for 285/70/17's

My tire pressure was too high to start, extremely rough ride. Then I dropped the pressure down around 31 PSI or so and the ride was better. Our summer was filled with months of rainless weather so I had no problem with the tires until the fall rain hit and it's just been brutal. I love the looks and I love Toyo products, everything I've ever purchased from them has been amazing but these R/Ts are not good in the rain.
I'm thinking of going back and getting the AT2s, I've had them before and they're just an incredible all around tire, I messed up not getting those to start with.

Huh, just as quiet as stock? Not from my experience or I have heard, though they are a great tire and one of the ones I would recommend.

OP, anything labled "hybrid" is what you are looking for and exactly what those above have noted. I almost went that route but decided looks didn't outlook all the other short falls for the little time I would actually be off road. They certainly look great though and better than a MT IMO..

Ko2s one of the most popular/tried and true tires out there, why advise against them?

If you’re concerned about road noise, stay away from mud terrains at all costs. I went with bf GOODRICH ko2s and it’s very surprising how quiet they are while also giving a nice rugged look.

A lot of people say they are noisy after wearing them down a bit.

I'm leaning heavily toward the Destination MT2's for my next set.

I ran Goodyear Duratracs on my RAM and they were very good. Very little, if any noise over stock and they look and function great it all weather conditions. I'm picking up a set for my Taco when the factory tires wear out. Was going to replace as soon as I got the truck, but the stock tires do surprisingly well in the snow where I live so I decided to keep them for now.

Icon lift set at about ~2". Wheels are 17x9. There was a little rubbing on the mudflaps and I had to trim them. Otherwise no rubbing except for in reverse sometimes.

My ko2s have been just fine for 35k miles so far. That's 2 Pennsylvania winters and no real issues. They balanced well and based on current wear they will go 50k no problem. I will say they are not my favorite snow/ice tire I've ever run but they do the job alright.
