I still have my el cheapo Pacesetter on the 3rz - used to live 3 miles from their factory. Still good after 13 years, and sounds like you say. The only thing I had to change was the enclosed collector gasket; I replaced it with an aluminum part available from any speed shop and many parts stores.

Same here on the collector gasket, the ones that came with the header are junk, but the rest of the header is about 5 years old so far.
