The new retrofitting retainer clip ships with the new mats as shown in the plastic bag in one of GQ7's pics above, I posted a snippet of his pic below. I'm pretty sure that piece has wood screw type threads to screw into carpet that doesn't have one. Could be wrong on the thread type though.

My 1997 had the mats with a hole and the clip when I bought her new. My problem has been finding the blue gray replacement mats. All I can find are "oak". I was thinking about replacing the carpet due to rodent damage but no luck with aftermarkets matching the color.

I have a set of practically brand new manual trans, OEM floor mats somewhere in storage from my 04, probably rolled up though...not sure their condition now. Swapped them for the all weather Husky Liners when my truck had 25k miles on it

I'll see if I can find them later after work, if they aren't ruined from being rolled up in a box with other crap then yeah haha.

They are the tan/light brown ones though, if that matters

you feel like custom ones that are near to oem, or so they claim?
i happened upon a website that says they can do it but i have yet to check it out! they do old classic custom muscle cars and all that jazz
my right foot hurts a tonnage anymore on the bottom with just socks on driving long distance w/o cruise control on, sometimes two socks worn do the trick sometimes

Toyota also made all weather mats for 1st get Tacomas. Discontinued and hard to find in decent condition now. Made similar ones for 3rd gen 4Runners too.

I've had these in my 04' since new and they still look brand new. I have the original front carpet mats in the attic never even used.

That said the all weather mats perform flawlessly...

Anyone know where I could buy a set of these grey ones? Or is anyone selling them? Or even trading for a full set of carpet ones

How do you like the Husky liners? I have a manual and heard they can be slippery. Regardless, I want to swap my garbage aftermarket floor mats for some better ones

Sooner or later acset will show up,

I paid 100.00 for my set,

Just make sure they don’t have any cracks

The molding specs is likely on a floppy disk somewhere in some drawer
I wonder with current technology these can be 3d printed whatever?

I just bought a set of Husky liners for my 3rd Gen 4Runner (manual trans) since I could not find any of the OEM all weather mats for it.
I think they are fine, the material is a bit more rigid than the OEM all weather mats, but I haven't had any issues with slipping.
Although it's been pretty dry so far this winter....

I've not noticed any issues with slipping when they're wet, although I don't know why that would be a big issue really since my feet are mostly up near the pedals for driving. I love the Husky liners, no issues with them at all
