When I went looking for a battery, Costco didn't sell the 27F Interstate battery in California, only 24F. The closest Costco that sold the 27F was in Nevada when the guy searched for me. He said probably only the cold states got the 27F.

I had to settle for an AC Delco Professional battery.

Most all batteries are produced by a few companies and branded. I have found NO DIFFERENCE in any brand over any other brand to be honest and i have LOTS of batteries. Lately i have been using Walmart batteries (made by johnson controls) in my fishing boats. My last set lasted over 6 years on my trolling motor which gets used in tournments etc... That's pretty darn good. I have interstates in my tow boat which came with the boat and they are fine too after 2 years, but thats really not much of a test. I have farm and fleet batteries in my pontoon, ATV's and jetski's and they are great as well. I don't think it really matters. Buy what you want to pay. But i would NOT pay a premium for INterstate branded. Farm and fleet in my car too and its been great for 3 harsh winters so far.

oh wait, i have an interstate battery in my boat lift and it went bad after one season. Not typical i am sure, but needless to say i am not happy.

+1 . I’d recommend the $100 Walmart Everstart MAXX battery. The 24F is easy to find, 27F is not easy to find. NAPA is the next cheapest option for a reliable 27F.

Someone should make a battery sticky.

I think the walmart battery is the best deal out there if you don't have the need for a top of the line battery like Northstar or Optima.

I don't really see how the cost difference is justified between the Everstart Maxx and an Interstate battery of similar specs, when from what I've gathered people seem to get the same inconsistent lifespans from both.

Even something like my mower, the walmart battery that is in there is 5 years old and still going and $20 less that the next cheapest one I can find anywhere else.

When researching batteries for the wife's 2014 Lexus, I found that Interstate made the OEM batteries.
