Yeah but he then sat the whole warriors game, just seemed an odd way to transition back from a month and a half of R&R but he certainly knows more about himself than anyone else.

I hope he comes back but with him getting the all star nod I feel he will retire.

Honestly, he may have thought it wasnt worth the energy when they can win other games much more easily....the strategic game lol.

He avoided warriors on that. Very unlike him.

True that. We are lucky to be able to witness these feats in our lifetimes.

Well, it feels like they're pushing for him to retire. Ima go the last game here in Dallas. I know the LAST season game is VS the Spurs. If his body says he cant, I'd understand but would be sad to see him go

No joke. Wife was so mad to watch superbowl. I told her this is history.

That game was boring but I can also appreciate the defensive genius. Those coaches had some good game plans for each offense.

All the hating is human nature but it sure is impressive to watch the way great athletes raise the bar even when I'm rooting against them.

He definitely should take less three's, and he has been more selective in his shooting lately. But only very recently, and we will see how long it lasts.

I do think you're looking at much too small a sample size, especially if you are only watching them against GSW. Watch them play almost any other team (not the Sixers, he has some beef there as well lol) and they have a blast.

I don't understand the ball hog stuff. He is averaging a triple double. It's a lot harder to get 10 assists than 10 points, and he is averaging 11 assists a game. 11 assists a game doesn't really indicate a ball hog.

And before someone starts in on stat padding to get triple doubles, if it was easy, everyone would average a triple double.

Personally I think triple doubles are overrated. I’d look this before triple doubles every time, he’s 41 in player efficiency(20.40) and wins added he’s 32 in the league(7.5). So the triple doubles aren’t really translating.

And in value added Westbrook is 33 in the league. Paul George is the top player on OKC in every metric category.

Westbrook is not perfect by any means, but I still don't agree that he is not a leader.

Paul George is an amazing player having an exceptional season.

He knew before the game started and then elected to play the game that night, so it’s not all that bad.

I think there's more to leadership than good personal stats. In his case those stats come at the expense of efficiency both for himself and the team. A leader includes and elevates those around him. I'd much rather watch players or teams that work togther well, I dislike watching ball hogs or guys using greater size to back a defender out of the way to get closer to the hoop, both of which usually involve the other four players cooling their heels watching, a boring style to watch in either case.

I can definitely agree about efficiency (Russ and the whole OKC team) in the past. Last season they were terrible at ball movement and mostly relied on one on one isolation basketball. I do feel like they have gotten much better at ball movement and generating better shots as a team. Russ has developed and matured as a player, and the front office has done a good job of surrounding him with guys that can score. This season they have played as a much more cohesive team, and Westbrook has calmed down on his shot attempts quite a bit. He still takes too many, but usually late in the shot clock and when he is open.

As far as leading, he is very encouraging to younger players. Watch interviews of young guys on the team like Terrance Ferguson talking about being down after having a bad night and Westbrook taking the time to encourage and lift them up. He has been doing a much better job at getting everyone involved and letting better shooters take the shots. I love watching him and Paul George get excited when another player makes a big play.

Again, he hasn't always been that way, and if you are referring to a few years ago, then I totally get it. But what he did in past seasons does not equate to what he is doing for the team now.

Either way, I can agree to disagree.
