Just did this on my 2010. Switch came from an 09.
The pics were gone from toyotanation, so took me about 15 minutes to find the snaps.

    Steps I did:
    1. Turn truck on so you can move the wheel.
    2. Turn left, take out philips head screw
    3. Turn right, take out philips head screw
    4. Pry column apart gently with something flat tipped
    5. Lower column and remove top piece
    6. Raise column and remove bottom piece
    7. Turn wheel to right so you can access the switch and wires easily
    8. Turn truck off (remove battery cable if you feel nervous)
    9. Disconnect the two wire harnesses on the bottom of switch. The plug release is on the while part of the harness just before it goes into the switch. (took me 5 minutes to find it)
    10. Gently pry the snap on the switch that goes into the column. It's about in the middle of the switch. Look at new switch and you can see the titty where it snaps on.
    11. There is another catch holding the switch in, and I couldn't figure out the release so I just pulled out and downward and the switch popped right out.
    12. Plug in new switch
    13. Reverse uninstall steps.

I did the wiper speed thing, works great. Asked my local dealer (Fuccillo auto) parts guy and he said it would not work. Ordered it online no problem.

Which part number needs to be ordered for a 2010 base? Will both work? Thanks.

I'm not sure the part number, but I got one from an 09, and it worked in my 2010 base.

Does it work backwards like people have claimed out of the 09+ switch? I'm wanting to order one and want to make sure before I make my purchase that it will work right.

Not sure the PN since it was a few years ago, but mine is 2011 and works perfectly.
