I used to smuggle my PC parts into the house, and wait till she was sleeping to perform upgrades.

Yeah those aren't as bad as my radios. But that's also one of those cases where I just be upfront and honest and wait for the Wrath as I tell her I'm buying it

That might be an option for the gpu.

Although I had to cave. So really I'm assuming I'll want to upgrade the mobo and gpu at the same time.

    A little more work

Let’s see how this works with Xplane, I got my monitors set up, new keyboard, yoke system installed (now to set it up in game), it should be a fun (late) night.

I flew around for about 20 minutes with the screens displaying the same image and then finally figured out that I needed to do a custom resolution to get a single wide monitor display.
Tomorrow I need to play with the field of view to get the ratio where I want it as the three monitors being the dash doesn’t leave much outside visibility.

Damn! I'm glad my wife isn't like that. She talks me into buying things since I talk myself out of buying them. She does the same thing. Talks herself out of buying things. We are both frugal but have the money (fortunately).

It's hard for me to stay awake for @Sterdog to get online. He's 2 hours behind me. I'm like dragging the next morning lol

Well finally in our new house and talked to the internet people. Not the best but not the worst either. 50/50 no data caps but it's $90 a month. Bit different the the gig we had for the same price at the old place. In reality though that speed is just fine for the wife and i

Dude I did that one time with my last graphics card. Snagged the box at the door. Waited until a night she was working late to install it. Smooth sailing the whole time. Even gamed on the thing before she got home.

Next morning at breakfast... "hey what was in that UPS box?" My dumbass left the shipping box out.

It wasn't a big deal, just wasn't a conversation I wanted to have.

95C is generally the highest you want to go/sustain. Though most cards have a max operating temp of 110C or so I think.

Yeah I try to never let my cards get above 80C. I run a super aggressive fan curve, though. I think my 2060 averages around 60-65c under load but it's also a cool running card.

    Well shit, now what?
    Haha.

Made some compromises with the purchasing due to my toys being bought all on OT and that's been dried up until planes start flying again. But hopefully it gets me going for now.
