The lack of compatibility between apps is unacceptable.

I have one on my Mobo that controls it all. Aurua? I'm not home to check it. But it controls my ram, Mobo, case and if I could ever find a decent rbg cooler that too. Mine actually plays to music lol pretty dope

If I switch my prism over to the RGb header and sync it, I believe I can do the same. But I haven't be able to get the gpu to align with it.

The headers help but there should be a standard. For example, my motherboard has three different RGB headers on it for different modules that different companies have released. There should be a standard both hardware and software wise that covers everyone like there is for everything else.

Haha yep. Looks like I'm doing some shopping.

Is there still such a thing as a student discount? I've got a few Prof buddies. Maybe they can hook me up with something.

No. There isn't because schools get a deal on Windows for their own systems but not for their personal ones.

The best deals I’ve seen on student discount were CAD programs, one of them that I looked at was free for students and teachers, and over 1K/yr for everyone else, it was crazy.
I’d have CAD software to cool around with and do mockups/load testing with if it wasn’t so darn expensive.

Adobe also has a sick discount for students. It's about 70% off IIRC for the full suite for a student.

The curve is where is was curious. I'm sure some of it depends on viewing distance too. Sadly nobody remotely close to use has any curved monitors. The 32 is what I was leaning towards anyways and then using it for all gaming via hdmi.

Good to know on the hiccups with it

Is that the new intel ARM based one? (On my phone so bit annoying to do to much digging). But if it was that's the one I'm leaning towards since laptop wise all I need now is video and web browsing. Plus most everything of significance has the ports to work on ARM based windows now.

I’ve been using CS2 since late 2000’s when I bought it at faculty discount while teaching a class. Still works great. Also have stand alone copies of AutoCad LT that I got back in 2010 that still work fine. F... subscription ware, they can take these from my cold dead hands.

The G7 has only HDMI 2.0, not 2.1, so no adaptive sync without using DP. Just thought I'd mention that, HDMI 2.1 monitors aren't really a thing yet.

No, the one I linked is the X86 still but ARM-like version. Basically they take one modern CPU core at laptop power levels and pair it with four Atom server cores that sip power so you get a 7 watt CPU that can hang out with ARM on power usage, Samsung says 17ish hours of battery life, while still getting acceptable office daily driver performance. 8GB of ram, the max for that chip, really hurts though. That's small for a laptop today at that price.

The ARM version does crazy well with stock windows apps and Chrome but I wouldn't touch it with anything not built with Windows ARM in mind. Still lots of issues.
