Most work but some don’t. It’s safer to just match up 2nd gen Ryzen to a 400 series board. Plus the boost clock holds a lot better on the 400 series boards and ram compatibility is as good or better than Intel boards on the 400 series.

I am running stock clocks and 2400MHz RAM on my B350 strix. I don't really do any gaming or OCing.

TR was $$$$$ when I bought. The 1700 does just fine for what I use it for. Very efficient processor.

You guys are making me want to build a new AMD machine. My last one was a Phenom II X4 965 BE.

You should. The performance per dollar of the 1st gen ryzen series was great. Glad intel finally has some good competition. Not sure what the 2nd gen ryzen is doing as far as upgrades from the 1st gen.

The cables have since been cleaned up, but she's purring like a kitten. So darn quiet. I expected there to be more noise from the Cryorig considering how big it is.

The Cryorig also takes up too much room, so I am going to be stuck with two DIMMs. Hopefully the price of RAM will come down soon. Also the GTX 1080 was longer than my GTX 970, so I ended up having to remove the primary drive cage and was left with only two drive slots since I also had to remove the SSD cage to make room for the giant ass power supply. I do like the HAF 912 cases for airflow, but for this build I should have really went with something that has more room.

I do a lot of work that requires a HEDT computer. I had a 1700 then upgraded to the 1950x within a week of its release.

The 2000 series is more of a 1.5 gen Ryzen than anything else. It can hold boost for longer and the chip itself generates even less heat in testing. It’s also possible to hit almost 4.5 ghz on a good overclock which wasn’t possible on the 1st gen Ryzen. For people who don’t overclock the higher stock speeds and better boosts make a sizeable improvement.

    So many screens!

I have 2 x 24” screens but if it wasn’t just for work and casual gaming I would of went with one of the new gaming ultra wife screens in place of them.

Yeah.. being a Web Developer and Gamer, 4 screens were necessary. :) I want more LEDs though! I just have one 6 ft strip in the back.

Yeah nothing I do deals with code and visuals so I don’t need that many screens. Looks great though.

Welcome to Windows 10 where you have the option to turn off "Show taskbar on all displays" ;)

I know. The old default though wasn't taskbars on every screen. I've never bothered finding the way to turn it off though I assumed it was an option.

I'm also aware of the show/hide task bar per display, but it is convenient to have it on all displays because depending on the application, some displays I use full screen and the taskbar is hidden on all but one. Even if I have them all hidden, it often glitches for me to where it'll say hidden even if I hover over it, or it says open even though I'm not hovered over it so I just leave it on.

I find Windows 10 horrid for overwriting monitor settings. Every time my computer goes to sleep it tries to switch the primary monitor no matter what I try.
