Odd. I don't get notices to this thread anymore. Happens to alot of my threads on mobile.

My 2x1080's are handling BFV like a champ still. He'll, my buddy is using a 1070 and playing maxed out. Probably won't have to upgrade for another 3 yrs.

I have heard there are lots of failing RTX2080Ti cards out in the wild right now. I don't have any desire to buy a new card (my 1050 still does fine for solitaire lol) but if anyone is interested, look at the reports out on the interwebs.

Based on their earnings release, nVidia seems to have a lot of inventory due to the fizzle of bitcoin mining popularity. Might be some decent prices coming. I think the thing a lot of people run into is the law of diminishing returns -- if you already have a good card, upgrading to the latest doesn't really give you that much better performance. It now takes a few years for things to move on. And by then there are new socket/slot/bus standards too.

This was a long time coming. nVidia delayed the 20 series, which was actually ready to go in spring, to try and sell down the 10 series inventory. The 1060 and cards below the 1060 are actually in a good spot inventory wise but AMD blowing out the remaining 570s and 580s is really killing their demand. The 1070 and 1080 cards though are massively overstocked, some outlets are saying by 100,000 GPUs. This is why the “new” 1060s are just cut down and binned 1070 and 1080 chips.

nVidia is suffering for the same reason as Intel, they’re asking a lot of premium for very little performance gain and it’s hurting sales. If AMD launches Navi next year and it can run 2080Ti frame rates without ray tracing nVidia could be in trouble.

I was reading some articles on navi. If they can compete head to head with nvidia, i would like that. For our wallets sake.

So. my 1080ti died which was just dandy. take it into memory express cause I still had ipr and apparently they don't stock 1080tis anymore so the guy tells me my replacement is a 2070. so im getting downgraded cards because they don't stock 1080tis anymore. actually pissed. try to argue that it should be getting replaced with a 2080 and he tells me no cause that the 2070 superseded the 1080ti??!?!

I think with a few tweaks, it will be.
Digging it so far. Can't remember my origin name off the bat but if you post yours I'll add you. I've been running with the same crew since before bf2. A couple since go and vs 1.6. Great group. We took a break after bf1 and now we're back.

I ordered a EVGA 1300w gold power supply on cyber monday for $79. I am not exactly sure what I will be doing with the PSU though, since I don't really need one. I guess I can look at it, and say "I have a 1300w PSU" :notsure: It already arrived yesterday.

What kind of warranty does the 1300w have? I bought a 750W from evga a few years ago and it has a 10 yr warranty :headbang:

I ran with a group that played America's Army, then we switched to BF2 and played in ladder leagues. We made it to 16th in a ladder league at one point, but typically held in the 30's somewhere. Pretty diverse group with some young guys and older guys, paid for our own server (kind of had to if you were going to play in leagues). Sadly, most of us got busy with life, switched to console gaming, or whatever. My current rig might run ok at lower resolutions, but it wasn't built for gaming. I stick to PS4 these days. :anonymous:

10 year as well. I bought two 650w G3s last year, one for a system I was building, and one to upgrade my sons computer so I could add in a GPU. Those both have 10 year warranty too. And the EVGAs are very nice quality. No complaints from me.

Negative. Tried to Alpha/Beta and it was meh. I wasn't a fan of BF1 either.

    BF4 > BF1 / BFV

Sorry to hear your card died. I have heard the 2070's do perform better in some tests over the 1080Ti but still I would be upset also. Did you get a 2080?

I played a few rounds of BF4 last night <3

no unfortunately... went to 2 different stores and they both said the 2070 is the replacement, got the msi gaming z edition which seems to be pretty heavily overclocked out the box reaching almost 2000mhz core clock in benchmarks, its almost on par with my 1080ti performance but the 1080ti still comes out on top in 3dmark fire strike which I guess is ok, having ray tracing support is nice but holy does it even hinder performance when its enabled. not sure if its the drivers or the 2070 just isn't powerful enough to support it. all in all im not too upset with how it performs, still would of preferred a 2080 though.

2070 is about the same performance unfortunately and given the RTX price jump I can see why they would give you one. Can you pay the difference for a 2080? I’ve always had good luck with memory express.

You can easily hit over 2000 MHz on most of the 20 series cards. My base model Gigabyte I’ve had over 2100mhz stable a few times just for fun.

Anyone see the AMD leaks on CPUs for the Ryzen 3000 series? Intel is fudged. It looks like AMD will match IPC, clockspeeds, and offer two more cores for about 3/4 of Intels current price.

I didn't really feel like paying a 400 dollar difference on card that's only 10-15 percent better than the 2070, I was just disappointed the 2080 wasn't my warranty replacement. I still don't trust these run of gpus, max oc I got was +315 core clock stable. still doesn't benchmark higher than my 1080ti.
