One of the greatest memories of this game is when MyG0t used to get on the opposite team, load a chopper full of people and sit at the edge of the map!!!

Just finished what may end up being the last custom build for myself. Its way more powerful than I need since I dont really game anymore... Only thing left to do is redo all the wiring from the PSU. I am not a fan of sleeving and shortening all the wires.


Its only been up a few days and already filling with dog hair... theres no stopping that from happening with 2 husky's.

Given it's Newegg I'd gamble that scalpers put a lot of speculation down online.

 

That was first year in dorms for me, especially since even a potato laptop could run it.

 

I will say I'm not surprised with the high level of Intel pre-orders. If you're an Intel only sort of person, and lots of those exist, really what came out since the 8700K that really made people want to upgrade? I mean even though it was a 6 core part that's all gamers really need still and, with a good one which was pretty common, you can easily overclock it to 5.0 ghz. I mean I had one in a custom build for a buddy hold 5.1 ghz no problem. With that overclock it's within 5% on framerates with even a 10900K in most games down at 1080P. The "fanboi's," who would probably build a new computer every three years anyway have been holding those 8700K systems until now because the new Intel chips weren't worth it over the 8th gen. With 12th gen it'll be at least as good as Ryzen 5000, which is worth it over a 8800K. Pent up demand.

On that though I wouldn't buy one to scalp. Intel is famous for stockpiling before launch and feeding the market well even through shortages. Even the 8700K wasn't impossible to find for the first few months.

Now if anyone wants to complain about how all the Youtubers dropped Intel hype videos because it was a mandatory part of their coverage, similar to how nVidia made anyone getting a 3090 show an 8K resolution demo, I'm all for that. It's utter BS that even reputable influencers bow down to Intel to hype a product with no certified benchmarks just because they want to be a part of the pie. That needs to stop. Let Intel hold their own event and cover that. Don't read from a script because it's the only way to get a free chip to benchmark early.

Even Steve from Gamers Nexus gave into Intel and won't talk about it. Fucking sad day.

Me still running a base clock 6700k and a 1050ti

 

Would it be recommended to upgrade my motherboard from a cheap gigabyte b450 DS3H to a b550 tomahawk since it’s currently $149? Cpu and gpu are ryzen 5 3600 and rx580 8gb. The motherboard works, but only 1 fan header, 1 m.2 slot, max supported Ram speed is 3200, and the pcie slot for the gpu is slightly angled down towards the end leading to obvious gpu sag which forced me to go to a vertical gpu mount to take the strain off the slot

Or just wait and upgrade motherboard and cpu together whenever that happens?

 

I would say mobo + CPU together. Usually, there are bundle deals on Newegg or Amazon. Also black friday deals are gonna come up if you can stick it out for a month. Plus you'll be able to find a mobo that best suits your needs but if you're dead set on getting a motherboard then I'd say that mobo is a pretty alright option. I've never had a bad experience with Gigabyte

Yeah the mobo I’m looking at is the MSI b550 Tomahawk. I’d like to be able to control my case fans individually (140mm and 120mm) instead of all the same speed like how it is now with all of them plugged into a silverstone fan hub. There isn’t much cable management space either, so removing the fan hub would definitely help in that regard.

Anyone have any suggestions for a living room build? Only play warzone and occasional Siege really anymore. With the current prices I'm seriously considering just setting up a thunderbolt dock and getting an Asus zephyrus laptop to dock in the entertainment center.
