PC related, but not a Pc.
I’ll be getting gigabit fiber in the next week or so after almost a year of having under 10 Mbps down and 1 up.
Because the old DSL system is so bad I never upgraded from the ISP router, with the gigabit system I’m planning on upgrading the router, it’s been a few years since I’ve bought one and I prefer net gear.
    Thoughts on this router?

Admittedly I'm not very techy, and not much experience with anything other than the crappy "rented" all in one modem/routers from ISP's, but I've gotta say I've been really happy with my Google Mesh router/hubs and 1/2 gig fiber. Its nice to be able run things "wired" in multiple rooms and actually get the speeds I pay for in the entire house.

Not netgear, but the Asus AX86u is arguably the best router on the market

I may have spent too much time looking at Lego lately, because I saw that and all I can see is this:

    Yeah.
After doing a bunch of research, this is the route I went (haha see what I did there?). I am happy with it, but some clients still do better connecting through the older Ubiquiti mesh system. I won't do Netgear again, at least for a while, after they burned me with a previous Nighthawk router that was never capable of meeting the advertised specs and they wouldn't (or maybe even couldn't) do anything about it.

I have the Asus AX-11000. I haven't had any complaints. UI is good and easy to work with.

I’ve been using this case for years, I love it. It was the first (and only so far) case I’ve had where I don’t need a “tower rack” for my drives and have them flush up against the back wall. It’s been great for cooling/airflow

the Corsair 4000x probably will be my next case.

I think I’m finally gunna build a new pc with some tax return money this(next) year

it’s been a long, long time.

I had an older version of the Nighthawk and was ultimately unhappy with its performance. Because I moved into a larger place, I replaced it with a mesh router instead. If you don't need to cover a larger home, go for a quality Linksys router. Otherwise, investigate Eero or something like that for a mesh solution. Just don't use Google unless you don't mind them hoovering up even more of your data.

I ended up ordering the Asus that was recommended last night, my wife and I live in a 3500 sqft house but we pretty much only use about 1600sqft of it so I’m sure the single router will be fine, the current AT&T router covers most of what we need it to.

Having bought one recently, I agree. Plenty of controls to tinker with. The UI is great, the app (for remote admin) is great and most important the range is great. My only (small) complaint is the parental controls are meh. I do like Linksys' controls a bit more. And does Netgear still make you pay a subscription to use theirs?

When I moved in with the gf (now wife), she had the Cox panoramic modem/router combo. The range was ok. She has the 500/10 plan, and she was getting only about ~400 with that modem. I also noticed that starting a download or loading a webpage was slow to initiate (DNS?). And all those Cox Wifi hotspots?, If you have a Panoramic router, you're one of those hotspots! You can disable that and change other things, but when you access the router controls, you need to login to your Cox account to change anything.

I've since replaced the Cox setup with the AX86u and the Arris SB8200 modem. Getting ~550+ speeds and everything loads without delay.

Its all I've been playing for the past few weeks, and I'm super enjoying it. I played OW1 on console and had never tried any kind of shooter games on PC until recently when I built, and I'm completely hooked. Launch was an entire mess, and they're still working through some things, but it is a blast. Only downside of playing PC is my wife complains about getting put into PC pool (while shes on console) and having to play "better" people, or have no aim assist.

Aim assists are disabled for console players when in crossplay; so if I'm on PC, we're matching into PC pool games, and my wife on console is at a slight disadvantage.

Its kind of dumb honestly, and I don't really understand why its that way. Its not like you get to play competitive/ranked on crossplay, so why even bother taking it away in unranked?

I agree. I completely understand that its a competitive game, and you want to level the playing field when users are in crossplay, but thats the entire reason that competitive/ranked matches don't support crossplay. There's just not a good reason to take away all of those features console users utilize (in ranked matches...) when they're playing in unranked crossplay matches, completely for fun; sure, people are obviously still playing competitively and to win, but ranked matches exist for those who are looking to really prove something competitively.

Finally got fiber, due to my rural location this was my DSL speed.

And now that we’re on fiber I’m getting this.

That ping and jitter is a beautiful sight (as are the speeds).
