It's only ok. Do you need 1tb? For the price I would go with Samsung 970 Evo 500gb. It's quite a bit faster.

I’ll check it out, I kinda want 1TB, I have over 13.5 TB of storage last I checked but only 500 GB of that is SSD.

Ended up with the 970 Evo and ASrock B450 Steel Legend MoBo (the others I tried to get were out of stock), now I just lack RAM, Case, and PSU.

1tb would be nice but 500 is still good for everything you need fast IMO. Then can supplement a larger one where specs don't matter as much for things like games. Most people I know don't really notice a big difference in a pci nvme vs an older data 3 sad.

I only have a 500 (well 480) ssd for cache and rarely max it out speed wise on my network

I got the Samsung 860 EVO 1tb a while back on sale. It's my main drive on my pc currently. Have to RMA my 4tb WD Black again before I have a hdd in here.

My build I made last month.

I forgot that I do need to allocate some space for cache for my plex DVR system, once life settles down some I’ll have to mess with it and see if not having a cache for the DVR is causing the recordings to fail.

I ended up with the 970 Evo drive, a 750 Watt PSU, a case (with 5(I think) fans), 2x8GB DDR4 3200, and MoBo (B450 chipset), now all I need to do is start checking the used market for a GPU, I’m thinking an RX580 but you guys might recommend something that matches the system better.

A mock-up of the new system (Ram is a different brand but same rated speed and capacity) with a RX580 vs my current system (again, RAM May not be exactly the same but it’s somewhat close).

Did you go with the 970 PRO or 970 EVO? Both are good....with the pro being the best :)

    Whats your budget for GPU?

Evo, I had to go back and check because I’m so used to seeing the x70 series as pro and the x60 series as Evo.

Budget is at or below $200, in all reality my 1050TI is good enough, I don’t really Max it out (although I got assassins creed 3 the other day and that might push it pretty hard) unless I’m editing videos.

So I’ve decided to upgrade my Wraith Stealth to an RGB cooler since my case and MoBo both have LED’s, looking at the Wraith Spire and Max since they look nice and clean.
Is the slight performance improvement worth the $2 more for the max?
It’s going on a full ATX board so space shouldn’t be a concern.

Some Noctua's would help with the noise

Thanks for the suggestion, but all my fans are noctua. The gfx card itself is so loud. I set a custom fan profile to keep it cool-ish but I'd rather deal with the noise than an overheating card.

Yeah the Fury cards were crazy hot. I had a R9 390x from the same Gen and even that card was hard to cool in a well vented case.

So, been busy, still chasing this mess. I’ve been doing everything off my laptop but I want to get it working again.
RMA’d the ram and nvme ssd with Corsair, Corsair sent out a new set of 3200 16gb RGB pro ram and a 480gb mp510 nvme m.2 ssd because they don’t make the 240 mp500 series anymore. Replaced ram first, booted into win10proN, still getting BSOD. Replaced ssd, did a custom install through ghost32 and did a direct install of win10pro from Microsoft on a stick. When installing windows from a new image, it will be about 50% finished and just crash, of course no BSOD because windows isn’t fully installed yet. And it just restarts the computer to try the install process again.

Try installing with only one stick of ram. If that works you at least have a place to start from. I'm guessing it's either the Ram not playing nice with the memory controller on your CPU or the board traces are not working correctly at your XMP settings.

This should loom pretty good when it’s finished.
