For video editing I have a few questions:

What resolution? The Ryzen 5 2600 is okay for 1080P but for anything higher resolution I'd spend the money on either a 3600 or a 3700X.

Which programs? If it's Adobe I have the same recommendation. That or, shudder, consider the i9 9900K. Sadly Intel has an advantage still on Adobe because the integrated Intel graphics can accelerate decoding and encoding from Adobe files. On that note the 1660Ti is a good card but if you're recording any video on your PC with something like OBS either step up to the 2060 or down to the 1660 Super. The 1660Ti doesn't support the new nVidia powered NvEnc encoder while the 1660 Super and 2060 do.

If you're dealing with large images I'd bump up to 32 GB of ram and consider a separate SSD scratch drive. Make sure if you get a separate SSD scratch drive that it has a DRAM cache.

As someone mentioned go up to an ATX MB. No reason to go small in that case and you'll gain valuable PCI-E slots for upgrades later.

One other option, if you don't game much consider saving for Threadripper. It's super high PCI-E lane count and high thread count really make it the king of the creative platforms. Quad channel memory also makes a big difference. It would be the spend more pay less later option since a new 3960X should be good for 5-7 years for video editing.

To be completely fair I use a Freesync panel on an nVidia card lol, but my next panel will be 2.0 or true g-sync.

Let us know how bad the ghosting is. I heart MSI but refuse to buy their monitors. They use a lot of lower binned LG IPS panels which tend to have terrible ghosting but YMMV. It is worth the money so to speak since competition level IPS panels with better specs touch the $500 mark and higher.

I like the Predator a lot. Granted I didn't buy it brand new (at the time list price was around $800 - saw it around $650 when on-sale) but it wasn't used that long when I bought it from a co-worker. He just wanted a 34" Curved monitor so that's why he was getting rid of the Predator. He didn't game so not sure why he bought the Predator in the first place.

I've had it for 2 years now? and no issues.

Supposedly it's the same Panda display that the Pixio 247 and Viewsonic VX205 uses which all have pretty great reviews. We'll see soon enough. Should have it by Friday.

Alienware came out with a new IPS monitor that’s freesync premium and gsync compatible. 240hz and 1ms response. I think it’s right under $400

My ThinkPad has an available M.2 slot, but can only fit an 42mm drive. Not a lot of great options. Mostly brands I've never heard of. Thinking maybe a smaller capacity M.2 for the OS, and a larger 2.5" SSD for storage.

240hz IPS 1ms at $400... probably not. More likely a TN panel. Post a link if you find it. That's a hell of find if that's true.

Decide to try out an O11 case. I like it though I have a new hate on for Corsair high end fans lol. The QL series is a bitch to install. 20200416_153947.jpg

That link dead ends for me, could be because I'm in Canada. I was able to look up the model number though. Looks like MSRP is 499 but they've dropped the price for a sale. Seems about right though that 1 ms response time is false advertising. If you dig into it the fast setting for pixel look overdrive gives closer to 4 ms gtg, which is fine. With over drive you get horrible chroma.

TN is probably going to keep being the standard for 1 ms response time without causing fringing.

Great monitor. Put many hrs of gaming on mine & not one issue.
I've since gone to a UW, so it plays a back up role if needed.

They come with the node. I wouldn't have bought them otherwise. I mean they're purty but I wouldn't have bought them for a normal build. Given the O11 is basically an aquarium I bought them to give it some flash since without any it looks weird.

The do the work fans are on the bottom. Two ML series. They push a serious amount of air into the 2080Ti whenever I game. I'm really happy with them except for the fact that anything that can push over 70 CFM is going to be loud. At up to 80% power thought they're dead quiet.

Okay so day after build thoughts on the Lian Li O11 Dynamic:

    Pros
    • Build quality is excellent. All panels fit tight and the steel is a good thick gauge.
    • Case was well packed for shipping.
    • Slotted exterior panels with only two thumb screws holding everything together is great, makes access into any part of the case very easy. It also looks good not having screws holding up the tempered glass.
    • Filters on everything which are also easy to remove where they aren't necessary.
    • Front panel IO is well laid out and the power button feels solid.
    • Unique motherboard position allows for great airflow and makes cable routing easy as long as you think it out logically.
    • I'd rate this case, with the right fan configuration, as about as good as airflow can get in a case built for AIO or custom loop cooling.
    • The dual PSU mounts are pretty useless unless you're into extreme server processor based builds in small cases, but I will make this a pro by saying the drive cages in the upper bay are very logically positioned for easy removal.
    • It has to be said, what other case allows for the mounting of 9 fans and still has two full tempered glass panels? None. This case is in it's own class for combining airflow and aesthetics without going to an open platform design.
    Cons
    • You need to install at least seven fans, IMHO, into this case to get your moneys worth out of it. That turns a $180 CAD case into a $250-$500 case depending on what fans you choose to use. This is the sole reason I rarely recommend this case. It is a very good case... when you double it's cost with fans. A two fan conventional mid-tower setup will air out better than this beast setup stock.
    • There is no way to get a big tower cooler in this case. If they made it a true double wide like the higher end Corsair stuff it could fit one. They should at least offer a case like that as an option. I didn't aircool, but most people still do. Also the tight space makes oversized graphics cards wide enough to push their power cables against the glass which I don't like.
    • The cable routing bar is half tooless. This makes zero sense. I mean I think the bar itself is great but why have a combination of thumbscrews and normal screws to remove it?
    • The lower fans could be better positioned. I mean they're probably 8 out of 10 already for how they're setup but a better filter setup that sits flat with the fans installed and a little more clearance for the lower edge of the motherboard where I/O usually is would be nice.
    • The USB 3.2 cable from the front I/O is too short. It barely reached the motherboard. This is a large oversight in my opinion and probably not noticed enough since USB 3.2 on board is still a new feature.
    • I PSU mount feels a bit janky. Yes, there is PSU support on the side but it's a small bar with a rubber slip cover. On this level of case they should probably go to something a little heavier.
    Overall score: 9/10

Honestly it would be 10/10 for me except for the short USB 3.2 cable internally and the lower fan mounting system. This thing is beautiful and worth every penny, just be ready to open your wallet for high end fans if you want to get your moneys worth. It might be a mid-level priced case but it demands a high-level spend to make it worthwhile.
