I've got a MGM Double cab Sport on order. I'm an even 50/50 on if I should go with the DC OR vs the Sport.

Just curious if anyone else has ever kicked themselves for ordering one versus the other? The extra length in the bed vs the extra off road features. I'm not sure which I'd use more....

I got the off-road and never use the crawl control or locker but nice knowing it's there and might help resale down the road. IMO Toyota should charge less for the sport models

Bought my 16 OR 6MT. Loved it. Ordered it with moonroof. When 17 PRO came out, had to have it. So traded OR for PRO.

Only regret, I miss the moonroof from my OR.

yes... i ordered a 16 DCSB TRD OR 4x4 and my dealer made me give up my 14 DCLB TRD SPORT 4x4 2 weeks early for it... i got a TRD OR DCSB 4x2 and they said sorry and took a few bucks off a month and said if i wanted to wait for a 4x4 it would be a few months and i would need to use a loaner prius durring the wait.

Hard to say without actually experiencing both. You might have an initial impression of something but, upon actually trying it, find out it doesn't make a shred of difference. I, for example, kinda kick myself for not getting the long bed because I haul my ATV quite often. However, I still am not even sure that it would even fit with the gate up and driving with the gate down doesn't matter to me most of the time...

Huh? What do you think is different in the bed of the DC Sport from vs the DC OR?

I bought the OR. I considered the Sport, OR, Pro, and SR5. I'd make the same decision again.

Us PRO owners are short people. We buy the PRO so we can gain inches in life. We don't offroad our PRO unless you count the Saks 5th Avenue parking lot.

I didn't mean to suggest it wasn't an issue for you. I'm sure for tall folks there's an issue with a sunroof equipped tacoma if they weren't laying the seat back like a lounger.

My only goal was to provide a data point for other readers.

Go the OR if you have the cash. If you like a softer ride the OR will be right for you. The Sport is to stiff for my likening. Only difference really is the suspension, locker and crawl control on the auto. I choose a standard transmission so I didn't even get crawl control. But my truck was $1400 cheaper without the auto.

Plus who wants color match wheel wells, so overrated, you probably were going to paint them black anyways ;)
