Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Which does that apply to better, more off-road capability or a non-functional scoop?

When we were first looking around for a Tacoma, we test drove a sport and I liked the hood scoop. If I hadn’t done some research after the drive, we would’ve gotten it. But the OR looked cooler in the end and had a sun roof. I used my MTS on my 2nd day of owning my 2020 OR. I can’t imagine not having it.

Keep the scoop. I use to say the scoop was a pantie dropper. To keep it politically correct. His or her panties

This is a silly thread. Get whatever the heck you want. You go girl, spend 40 K plus and and let other people make your decision for you. Others who incidentally probably use their trucks in different ways than you will be using yours.

I had an off-road. It was great. I currently have a sport. It is also great.

    The end.

I wasn't willing to compromise on having a DCLB, so had to go with the Sport...DCLB Off-Road not available in Canada. I'll buy a locker if and when I need a locker.

I have had moments of regret but then calm myself down reminding myself that I'm saving for a re-gear and an air locker, problem solved. The leather and the sunroof would have been nice but went with Ruff Tuff seat covers and I think they are actually better than stock leather personally. Love my sport!

Thanks for the info @BookieBob ... that is definitely 1-website I personally would not have considered for Aftermarket Parts.

Also, loved the route through NW US. Did you happen to check out Craters of the Moon in Idaho? That's a few hours West of Yellowstone. One of the most SURREAL places in America!

Back when l got my truck leather wasn't even available on the sport and Off Road, but that's ok cause the factory heated cloth seats are nice and cozy!

My best friend got a 2017 Tacoma sport and now regrets it because he wants a locker now and it’s going to be more of a cost to him now to get one installed versus just buying the OR with the all the extra features it includes at the start. I have a 2011 Tacoma OFFROAD edition that I wheel pretty hard. And I Love it with no regrets. Like it has been said it’s better to have it and not need it versus when you need it and not have it. Plus the hood scoop is all looks. It Doesn’t even allow for more air flow. Just my 2 cents and but everyone uses there truck differently. Do what you feel is right! And enjoy!

I slid my OR into a snow-filled ditch this weekend and none of the gadgets could get me out. Just sayin.

I crashed this weekend and neither the brakes or the emergency break saved me from crashing. Just saying.

I got stuck in a Jack-In-The-Box drive thru line and they weren't accepting credit cards, cash only. Disengaged traction control & Auto LSD, L4, locked the diff, Crawl Control 5... My OR took that curb like a champ and I was out of there. Money well spent.

I could never rock a vehicle with a fake hood scoop. The antithesis of “cool” IMO. Come on Toyota, make it real or don’t do it at all.

I bought a Sport and don't regret it at all. This truck is my daily driver and will see very little off-road use. And the little bit of off-road it will see is not hard core stuff.

If I planned on doing more off-road stuff I would have definitely went with the OR model.
