same. But apparently a double cab short bed is not available as a manual on the off-road in Canada. Toyota makes some weird decisions about that sort of thing.

Appearance? The Sport is the only model with a tight sport style suspension, hence the "sport" trim. I'm shocked that most people prefer the soft suspension. You guys must all drive the speed limit.

I prefer the looks of the Sport with the color matched bumpers and flares as well as the hood scoop. I wanted an OR but I was forced to buy during COVID as a box truck decided to write off my 2016 Sport MT. Stock was low and no ETA on having one built. I settled on another Sport as I could not find an OR Premium with MT. Although the way I look at it is I can spend the extra money on a lift and ARB locker and have a better performing rig for around the same amount of money.

They are available. I saw a couple here in Alberta during my search. Only problem is I could not find an OR Premium with MT. Only OR without leather and sunroof.

In USA late 2019 models there was a difference in price BUT I never saw EXACTLY the same models, side by side. OR seemed to be higher dollars.

I have posted the MSRP of like configurations for years and they are exactly the same. Naturally if you add options to one and not the other then the price would be different.

Well I'm not a Tire Technician, Don't have a degree in Aerospace Engineering, and certainly am not buying into some wacky scientific theory, so please explain to my 55-year old butt cheeks how they can spend an entire day driving comfortably in my Sport but after an hour long drive in my brother's OffRoad, why they hurt so much.......

could be the seats, could be the roads are on, could be the weather, if he has any aftermarket changes that can affect things, he could have had his tires over inflated or under inflated there's a thousand variables here.

but you bring up a most excellent point. If you drove the sport and were comfortable, and drove an off road and were uncomfortable, it seems to me that in your case the sport is the better choice. Always good to drive both before making a final decision

Sport owner here quite happy with the sport and the hood. I actually love that everything is color matched. The grille, the bumpers, the mirrors, the door handles, and I guess the fenders?

Only thing I regret is not having lockers, but that seems to be an easier fix than finding someone willing to sell a sport hood.

I have Canadian ACLB off road my reason for buying it is thinking I wanted the locker over 4 doors
after a month of owing the truck I added a winch to it that's when the regret started
I could have should have gotten the sport and added winch to it

Were you in the passenger seat of your brother's OR? I'm always uncomfortable in the passenger seat, personally.

Since you mentioned 2019, this is what it was for both:

Sport and OR AC 4x4 AT - $35,830
Sport and OR DC 4x4 MT - $35,135
Sport and OR DC 4x4 AT - $36,375
Sport and OR DCLB 4x4 AT - $37,375
Sport and OR DC 4x2 AT - $33,800

Where I live in Canada the OR Premium is $2k higher than a Sport Premium. Pretty silly considering no painted flares or bumper insert etc. I'd rather put the extra $2K towards my own lift and ARB locker if I even need it.

Yes I was/am when I ride with him and you and cygnusX191 bring up excellent points. I may have judged the smoother ride issue a bit premature.

Glad you stayed above ground OP.

I was on the fence as well and test drove both before deciding on the OR. I went with the OR based on the driving I’m doing now and what I’m hoping to do in the future. I’m hoping to have the truck 200k+ miles, and figure I’ll get into crawling at some point. So for me it was worth having Crawl Control and the rear locker for the few times I may need it. That’s just me.

I liked the color matched flares on the Sport but didn’t like the hood scoop, I caught glare off of it every time I drove it. Not sure if that’s consistent for everyone.

Both are capable trucks, just depends on how you’ll wheel it and what mods you’re planning on.

The glare about killed me in mine I had that hood swapped after only having the truck for 3 weeks. Of course I'm shorter so the guy has swapped it with is a bit taller and he doesn't seem to mind it as much hence him wanting to do the swap.
