Don't worry sir, people are working very hard to keep building the trucks. Please be patient, you will receive your truck soon.

I have a new Limited hybrid on order. Was told 3-weeks ago the factory “has picked up the order” but silent since then….. Dealer has no idea if I will get a 24 or 25?

Maybe 4G production is going to begin and end with the 2024 model year. The longer the 25 release takes the more I'm starting to think Toyota is waiting on a fix for a problem before releasing the 25s. What that problem is? IDK, maybe Toyota can't get automatic transmission? Maybe Toyota does not have a fix for the auto TSB? The silence leaves me to speculate.

Not sure what you mean by a “fix.” The TSB includes the fix. They’ve found the root cause and solved it.

I have a 2024 on order and the dealer gave me a projected delivery date range of 10/11 to 10/24 but thats all they tell me. I see ppl here with better status on where their truck is...how are they getting that info? From the dealer or is there another method?

Yeah I goofed that one, it wouldn't be a TSB with out the fix lol. What I should have said is maybe they don't know the root problem, or have it completely narrowed down. Maybe it's debri and the trans and TC need replacing, maybe it's something else? I have to go with Toyota's offical word, they build the truck. I doubt if it's any real issues, it's the no info on 25s that has me wondering.

Given that they have a production range for the TSB rather than just a blanket solution, they feel confident that they solved the problem outside of that range.

As for what’s going on with the ‘25’s, I have no idea. I’m operating on the premise that MY25 will be “second verse, same as the first” given how late it is. I never much paid attention to how Toyota does model cycles, but most manufacturers have the next model year on lots by late summer.

Lots are overflowing with discounted ‘24 Tacomas that many folks don’t want to roll the dice on.

With that backdrop, Toyota (wisely) is in no hurry to “pull a Stellantis”, and torpedo their dealerships with truckloads of ‘25’s.

I would think Toyota would release the info, maybe Toyota is unsure of what matterials they will receive and can't commit to exterior and interior colors.

I saw a video the other day but don't know the validity, it said Jeep wasn't going to hold off starting 2025 Gladiators until most of the 24's are gone.

I heard the same thing with the 25s. Not much info here more about the UAW than Stellantis. It would appear Stellantis can't find an ally anywhere, not customers, dealers, workers/union, or Stellantis itself.

I can say that I just got my VIN for my truck that is scheduled to be built end of October. VIN states that it will be a 2024, so not 25's rolling through production in October.

It's already fixed. Your tranny goes south, they replace it. It was a limited run, and fortunately, before mine was built.

How long after the dealer ordered did it take to get a VIN #?

I’ve begun to wonder the same thing. It’s either that, or the dealers are still playing the profit game but without additional markups. I’ve seen trucks sitting at my local dealer for months now that haven’t dropped any further in price. The same 24 SR5 underground Taco was delivered in July and immediately listed with a ~$2400 discount is still for sale and the discount hasn’t changed. Tons of Tundras sitting on the lot too with discounts that haven’t really changed.

I think perhaps the distribution of trucks was poorly calculated because there are trucks waiting in places and people begging for a truck in others. All these American trucks sitting around could see in minutes in Canada. But dealers also have the gas trucks more discounted here, whereas no hybrid discounts.

I received a VIN as soon as the dealer got the allocation to be built. This VIN however is a pre-production VIN. The final numbers that typically reflect the serial number of the vehicle are not the final numbers but reflect a manufacturing slot. Mine is like a 44B157. 44 is the week it is being built, I am not sure about the rest of it. Final VIN should be available to dealers on as soon as the vehicle leaves the manufacturing facility.

First and foremost you did not ORDER anything as Toyota does not have the same system like say BMW or Porsche does. Your dealer has REQUESTED what you want which is completely different because they may (usually don't) get EXACTLY what you requested. Once the dealer gets their allocations, usually weekly but usually just a couple times a month then they request a build to your specifics. At that time they will get a build VIN so the dealer can track progress of that specific truck assigned to them. During the production day of the actual truck the VIN will get assigned. After that it is a crap shoot as to when you will get the truck. It is all about efficient logistics after that and luck of the draw. All dependent on your location and making sure transport is full.
