    Need to purchase suspension for my Tacoma soon.

    Any upcoming Black Friday dealers on Icons or Kings?

    Not sure which it go with. I had Icons in my 4runner and it soaked up the Death Valley washboards nicely. Love them in the 6 years I had them. Not sure how Kings will be.

    Can’t go wrong with either! Suspension buying time is a blast. Enjoy it.

    I have icons now and have ridden on kings. King is noticeably softer, so factor that into your equation. Tune out the fanboys that tune in to “trash” one brand or the other. it comes down to preference. Good luck!

    I have had front Icon Coil-overs (non remote reservoir) with standard rated springs on my previous 4runner for 6 years. I did not think the Icons were that soft. I did have alot of preload in them to accommodate ARB bumper, etc. I really liked how the Icons handled the washboards. I could go 40-50 mph over them without any issues (air downed of course). Will Kings handle the wash boards the same?

    For the Tacoma I am leaning towards the Kings just to try something different. Any thoughts? I will go with 700 lb coils this time.

    King will absolutely handle anything icon will. I’m with ya, I vote you try king. I have 700lb king springs on my icons because of an ARB bar. Definitely rides nice with the extra weight.

    I'm running King 2.5" with 14" 600lb springs and adjusters on the front and 2.5" with remote resi and adjusters on the rear. The Kings ride nice and soft offroad and on the street. With the adjuster you can dial in the firmness to your specific needs. Dial up the compression when loaded for camping or moving with speed through the desert, or set them soft for the Cadillac like ride. I dont have a bumper or winch yet but when I do I'll put 700lb springs on them.

    So the question still stands will there be any deals in the next month on Kings or Icons? Usually Metaltech 4x4 has a sale on Icons. But I have not seen any for Kings?

    Still having a hard time choosing. King or Icon. In my previous 4runner I had Icons.

    Should I go King this time around? Do not want to have any regrets.

    Hi Justin, great question. Yes we do have some various items embedded in the site for Gen 1 Taco and Gen 3 4R (Total Chaos/King). Some Gen 3 4R suspension parts are compatible with Gen 1 Taco. We will have a filter up and running today for the shop by vehicle. The toughest thing we have found is sourcing good Gen 1 Armor.
