I find that i use more gas traveling on the highway with cruise control on due to the fact that the taco floors it to get up to speed, then jams on the breaks when the radar trips.

if not can i disable the following radar?

    No

Hold down cruise control button for 3 seconds when turning it on I believe. Should be in the manual.

Hold the cruise control button when you turn it on and it will set to normal cruise control.

You can adjust distance on the steering wheel. You can also turn it off like previous posters have noted.
