I have a 2016 SR5 Double Cab and want to install the 8in Rockford Fosgate Sub and Rockford PBR300x1 amp I took out of my 2013.

I have no plans to replace the factory radio, I'm happy with the voice integration of it.

BUT, to install the amp I need to access the rear of the radio to tap the wires for the amp's high level inputs. So has anyone removed the radio from a 2016 or have any tips regarding clips or hidden screws.

    Thanks

Nothing challenging about the 2016 radio disassembly. Colored trim and vents are all one piece that just pops off. Use a plastic tool or just pull carefully. Then there are four 10mm screws holding the radio in. Even easier than the 2005-2015 dash.

    Awesome, thanks.

I haven't had time to really experiment with it yet.

Good to know. I've been wondering that for a couple days.

Do you know if toyota uses a standard double din for the entune stuff?

Nope, it's an oversized opening. Kit companies will have their kits out in the next few months.

I pulled mine apart tonight. Pretty simple. Lots of clips though so you need to be careful and go slow. Once a few pop it comes off really easy.
