I love the way you think!
That was the original plan when I went to buy this truck but I had no idea it was all new with the 4.0 and after the exhaust and TRD intake I figured it was plenty fast enough already :) I`d kill myself if I did a supercharger.
I passed several cars and a hay truck on a short passing lane thursday no problem wheeeeeeeeeeee hello 110 mph limiter from 35 mph in a quarter mile or less bye bye slow traffic!

OK so here`s the deal, when I put the stock box back on yesterday the engine started knocking. I cleaned the MAF sensor (dust in the stock box) cleaned the stock box again, drained the brand new oil and changed the brand new oil filter, fixed the intake manifold vacuum leak and reset the computer and the knocking gradually went away until it was gone completely.

It ran 240 miles yesterday no problems.

    So what caused the knocking?
Difference in airflow from TRD intake to stock airbox?
Vacuum leak in manifold from punching the bolt through?
Little piece of plastic temporarily blocking oil port/stuck in valve?
    (is that even possible?)
    Dirty MAF sensor?

I was thinking about dropping the pan and checking the oil strainer.
Hopefully everything will stay good now -fingers crossed-

    Thoughts?

Hmm, I don't know much about engines, but the little plastic piece could have got stuck on the edge of a valve. It could have very well worked its way down into the oil pan/strainer. Good luck to you and I hope you get things worked out.

I doubt that the piece of plastic could migrate from the intake system to the oil pan. It would have to go past the rings and it is too large to do that. It most likely entered the cylinder, bounced around a little then went out the exhaust valve. (If it did not melt while in the cylinder) If it went out the exhaust valve, it is safely in the exhaust system, probable sitting in the entrance of the catalytic converter. If you have already driven several hundred miles, I would not worry about it.
