So I was putting my jacket on and my keys flew out of my pocket and landed on the floor. Well the thing exploded into a bunch of peices. I was in a hurry so scooped everything up and threw the peices in my pocket and drove home. Somehow I lost the lock button. Is there someplace to get a replacement button or a shell that includes all the buttons to your knowledge? Or does someone who totaled their taco want to send me their old fob? Obviously I'd pay. I did some googling but couldn’t find much.

From what I've seen you'd have to buy a new fob to get the bits.

Go check a few junk yards. Generally the keys are useless to them since its very very uncommon to sell a whole lockset for a car. You'll have to go to the bigger junk yards, not the you pull it style ones.

You can also check with your local dealer. If they warranty a keyfob, and Toyota doesnt request it, it goes in the trash can.

Yeah I did find these and some others on eBay after doing a bit more research. Seems like a good option, just trying to get off as cheap as possible after making a stupid mistake. There’s some Toyota only junkyards in Denver I will call to see if they have any fobs laying around they could send me. As @5nahalf suggested. Thanks for the link!

Go out to Ebay and fund the cheapest fob for the same year that is the same style.

Yeah I checked those out. Looks like you've gotta swap your buttons from OEM fob into theirs.

Let me look when I get home. A year or so ago, I found a Toyota fob on a local walking trail. I posted pictures on several "Lost and Found" sites but nobody came forward. It is not a Tacoma fob because it has the "lift gate" button. But if the lock button is the same, I will mail it to you. More news to follow...
