Hey guys new kid over here. Just got my 2013 4x4 taco & so far I've put a whole 1050 miles on the girl and I've got the itch Bad to mod.

That being said, I've got the warranty for 170k miles, and the dealer will install a SC.
do I wait till my warranty is up to get it ?
And any idea where I get a factory sc? The guy at the parts counter was useless & couldn't seem to find an sc for the brand new truck.

if the dealer installs the supercharger for you it is covered by the same warranty so you should have nothing to worry about. check the second gen section i am sure you can find what you are looking for there

    ...too much shit to list.
I tow all kinds of shit with mine, but I have a manual transmission. IMO the AE340 auto transmission is kinda shitty.

If by "cut out" after half throttle, I'm guessing you mean the engine is missfiring?
Did you replace the spark plugs when you installed the supercharger? You should be running one step cooler plugs than factory if you just have the supercharger, two steps cooler plugs if you have the supercharger + URD kit.

Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
I have nearly 200K on my auto, the S/C was put on around 30K- truck was bought second hand from an older gentleman around 140K. IMO I have bad slippage at WOT with 2-3, 3-4. I don't know if thats from wear and tare from him, or due to the fact that he was OE pulley and OE ECU, and now its a 2.2, tuned and water/meth. Without a piggy and tune, I didn't dare romp on the truck, and I think it has extreme carbon buildup with all the un-tuned miles, its one of "those" super ping happy 5vzfes. Without management, ANYTHING past atmospheric brought about audible ping.

I have a giant hayden cooler on her now, but if I were to do what I want, this tranny would go to ITP and get one of their moderate builds (street build). For now I have to get off the throttle between shifts. How the tranny holds up to an OE pulley non intercooled setup I don't know through direct experience, but I've noticed a huge lack of "tranny build" threads with these blowers so I'd expect it handles it good. Additional cooling (though do not overcool- I run my cooler through the OE to bring it up in temp if over cooled) is your friend.

What I don't like about the auto is how the OE ECU loooooves to hold tall gears. I find myself in the low RPM/high load regions too easily (even with EST), and I have a ping/knock happy 5vz. I have to pull a lot of timing and add a lot of fuel in those regions, effectively not making anymore power than if the bypass valve simply stayed open. I know a guy that runs his taco in overdrive all the time due to this, I have some parts lying around to test a bypass valve control idea, might do a write up later on that.

With 2.2 pulley and OE injectors and OE fuel pump, I logged into the 90% duty cycles on the injectors, and that wasn't even to redline. Food for thought.

Having what feels like an ignition cut out happening can mean a few things. Without a boost gauge and a/f gauge, your in the dark as to what is happening. Running a step or two colder IMO doesn't move the knock/pring threshold to any significant value--- meaning though it may help, you noticing a region where you had knock before, and now do not have it there anymore after going colder, IMO, isn't going to happen. But most all the colder plug options come at a .035~ pre-gap, and that helps with potential spark blow-out in boost. All I've noticed with my two steps colder and 170 thermostat is worse MPGs, but no change to the ping threshold short of maybe doing very detailed logging to find.

Buuut, the 5vzfe ignition system is stout, peeps run 2.1 pulleys with water/meth (I believe one or two with E85 as well and thats harder to ignite) and probably burn their plugs past OE gap spec and still do not have blow-out. Your a/fs and/or timing is probably REALLY bad for the boost you were in and proper ignition simply could not happen. I ran an HKS DLI more for top-end power and possible MPG gains, but not because I had any feeling of spark blow-out.
