Just sold my Ikamper and looking for a wedge style tent so my truck can fit in my garage. Amazon ones cost about $1400 or so. Brand name ones cost north of $2800. I wanted to hear from someone who actually has one from Amazon. I am thinking a Chinese mfr makes them for all. The few I read in Amazon that are rated 4/5 stars, but not sure if they are authentic. Just looking for some confirmation. My Ikamper was fantastic. It lived through rain/snow and wind storms, rock solid. I don’t want to spend 3k-4k again. Thanks in advance. I am guessing I won’t get many responses.

A little something every chance we get.
Don't have one, don't know. But - word of advise on something like this from Amazon, is to copy the part description, and Google it for more reviews and vendors. I love Amazon, but....easy to find out more than what is there.

The one I am looking at unfortunately is too new. They just came out in 2023. I'll have to play the waiting game and wait for a video on YT.

I've got one coming in the next couple of days. I got the Bamacar wedge off of Amazon. Gets good reviews and looks identical to the roofnest wedge. I'll give a quick review when it comes in. I just sold my iKamper to downsize a bit, but that was a nice tent. Also had a desert armor ninja wedge a while ago, but that thing had some quality issues so I ditched it.

Got the tent in today from Amazon. It is exactly how the reviews describe it. Way higher quality than the Desert Armor Ninja I bought a couple years ago and on par with the Roofnest. I would guess that this is the exact Roofnest tent with Naturnest branding. So far I am super happy...nice mattress, anti-condensation mat, interior roof liner, roof rack (not mounted yet), interior LED lighting, storage pockets, and quality hardware. I will post more after I have more time with it, but so far this tent is the best bang for the buck of all the tents I have purchased.

Mounted to my racks easily. There are a few small aluminum crumbs inside, but not too much. Fit and finish is extremely good. Very happy so far, I would definitely recommend this tent if you're looking for a 1-2 person wedge.

How long was the shipping after you placed the order?

Might sell my CVT and go hard shell wedge after the summer is over.

It took a solid 2 weeks from time of purchase. The seller communicated good from the start. The tracking showed it coming from Georgia.

@huntv, can the ladder be set up to climb in from one of the side doors? Or does it have to be attached at the back?

It has attachments on each side and the back for the ladder, so it can be hooked up quickly on any of the 3 sides.

Just following up on the Amazon wedge I purchased. I've spent a few nights in it now and am still very happy with this purchase. It's seen some rain, wind, cold nights, and sunshine. No leaks, crazy wind noise, or problems to report. The mattress is like most other's in these, I like to put a little more on it for my 50 year old body that has been abused over the years. I put a thin thermarest under my sleeping bag and slept like a baby. The interior LED light strip works great, and the storage pockets are handy. I attached a lightweight tarp off the back for an awning on one trip, just to keep some gear out of the rain and keep my back entrance dry. For the price, I still think this is a great tent for one or two people max.

    Nice headliner with storage pockets

Can confirm, those Amazon tents are great, got one for under $500 (was missing ladder, mattress and small things…) I built a wedge camper and cut an access hole inside.

I am using inflatable sleeping pad and keeping all sleeping gear inside when folded. Sleeps 2 people great!

Nice score! I was wondering if anyone has tried cutting in a pass thru, how did you seal everything up?

I used aluminum angle bar riveted and glued with Teroson 5570 all around, then just dropped an MDF board with alupanel glued to the board on the interior side and velcro handle to lift it up from the inside. It’s been dry so far. On the doors I used bulbed seals and just random stuff I found around, it’s all build from scrap mostly. And that’s a 37” tire inside. :ballchain:
