Dud that is brilliant. Thanks a ton for sharing this. I'm rethinking all of my wedge camper / topper plans now...

How do these hold up in the wind?

I have had no problems in the wind. The roof lifting struts are pretty stout, enough to support a load on the roof and I don't think wind could ever collapse it. As far as the side material flapping, mine is pretty quiet compared to other rtt's I have owned but does move a little in the wind. I try to park accordingly.

You should mention you have a 6 foot bed and there's still overlap over the back end of the truck with your mid height bed rack. This tent is 83" long and will overlap super ugly if you have a 5 foot bed and mid height bed rack. Would love to have this tent, but it would best fit with a full height bed rack with roof rack combo.

I bought my Amazon tent and have owned it for a year now. So far its been well worth the money with no issue (except a zipper on one side I snagged when in a rush to get out). I added a light inside and a thin blow up mattress under the foam one to add more cushion. I bought a usb motion detector connected to a light by the ladder to light up the area when going up or down the ladder. Using a vacuum bag to compress 2 pillows with a big sleeping bag and blanket everything closes just fine. Mine didn't come with racks so I made my own to mount my solar up top.

Damn. This is the thing I was looking for too. Only thing that is keeping me from buying it since I have a 5” bed.

I hope that people would have the sense of doing their due diligence before making a purchase like this.

Mines holding up great, no issues or problems at all to report. I think I'm at 7" if I remember correctly. I just ordered a Leer with rack and will throw mine on top of that during the camping season. I still highly recommend the tent I got.

The prices are better now as well, and the coupon knocks another $200 off. I always pay attention to the reviews on Amazon, and if enough people are saying the same thing (good or bad) it makes it easier for me to determine whether or not to roll the dice. This tent continues to get really high reviews, so it seems like a good gamble. It was for me.

forgot to ask but how does it mount? does it have a typical rail system below the tent or is it part of the tent so it sits lower?

It has the typical 2 rails underneath.
