I still haven't received good customer service, and I haven't even bought one yet. Dealer doesn't want to budge on the price, instead they want to give me deals on accessories which I don't want or need. A couple people have now said that all the dealers in BC and Alberta are that way.

I don't know if it is my size or the fact that I like to bump heads, but I fight for what I thought was right.
Dealership tried to do that to me, (blow me off) big mis-take. I called every number I could find, wrote down every name. And even called the sales, service mamager into the large waiting area and had everyone hear what I had to say.
I do know they loose their rating if complaints come it, it pisses me off to no end that people like that think the can screw a guy/gal over just because they sell Toyota's.
When I take my truck in for service, I make sure it is clean, and then l tell the people behind the desk I did a walk around, and I expect it to be the same way when I get it back. Needless to say the point gets across, I even put a srathc on the oil filter, then when I go to get it (pick it up) I lift the hood and take a look.
I feel for all of you who have gone or are going through this B.S. but don't give up.
Fight until you get what is right!!!

I've got a 2005 and have had every TSB done to date.

When I had the squeaky clutch repaired it was engaging at the very top of the throw and I would hit my knee on the steering wheel constantly. Took it back to the dealership 4X's and they said it was normal and there was nothing they could do.

I called Toyota Canada and opened a complaint file. After 6 months of continual calls to them they finally had me take it to another local dealership. I reviewed the problem with the Tacoma Mechanic and he found the other dealership had installed a part of the assembly upside down. Problem fixed.....after 1 year.

I've owned a 91,93,97,2001 and now the 2005 Toyota truck and this 2005 has been by far the most problematic truck I've ever owned from Toyota. doors mis-alligned, paint chips, suspension squeeks, clutch assembly, allignment, brake routers....

I guess the moral of my story is not to give up on Toyota Canada till they make things right.

Here is the most recent reply from Toyota.

Thank you for your most recent correspondence.

Once again, we are sorry that your dealings with Noral Motors were not satisfactory. This dealer has an excellent reputation for providing very good service to all their customers. We are sorry that you feel that this was not the case in your situation.

With regard to warranty, please note that listed components are only covered if they have failed due to a defect in material or factory workmanship. Your Toyota dealership is responsible for determining if the condition meets the criteria for coverage under warranty, and we fully support their advice.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.

Related, yet not. On the forums for my old toyota (a corolla) I never heard a single complaint about Canadian dealers. Maybe Tacos are more of a pain in the ass to deal with?

I'm about to find out about service from a dealer other then the selling dealer. From the drivers side I can't move the front passenger window. I can from that door though. This is on my new Avalon.

EDIT: Me quoting myself: NTB has made ALL of this right. I got a call from the "new" manager there at that store. He said he has been there a couple of months and has been putting out the old fires daily. He saw my complaint and wanted to make it right. He offered to fix my rims and refund my dealership money I spent getting my tires balanced. I just had to leave the vehicle with them so they could do it. Well, I had to give them a chance to make it right so I dropped it off on Thursday morning and picked it up Friday afternoon. The wheels look brand new with ALL the weights on the back as they should be. I have not got it up to highway speeds as that don't happen around here on Friday atfternoons in Dallas/Plano rush hour. But 50MPH felt fine so far. And he asked me if "cash" was OK for the refund. The man paid me out of the cash drawer, $54! And since one of my lug nut caps was dented he installed a brand new set of Toyota Lock lugs on the wheels for my troubles. I just had to pass this happy ending along as this new manager made it all right. He showed me where it cost them $400 to get the wheels fixed as I was asking for $500 to get them repaired so I wasn't off by much. So if the highway test passes OK balance wise, this guy gets my business back and the BBB issue is resolved.
