ok so i got a scorche silver dash kit and the pain is peeling away as you can see on the pic....well i'm getting sick of all the silver, so i was thinking of getting a black dash kit...well since this happened, i'm wondering if i could just paint this one black...do you think the paint would hold? any special prep i need to do you think?...i painted my window switches a couple of months ago with black krylon fusion with no primer or clear coat, but i didn't hold up it wore off in certian areas, so i'm curious if i should put a clear coat of some sort on the new painted finish....i was also wondering how that spray on bed liner in a can would look on interior pieces, you think that would look goofy? thanks guys...

on another quick note, do the dash kits from the 05s differ from the 2010s? i only ask cause this dash kit fit perfectly in my 2006, but in my 2010 it doesn't hold right and keeps popping out on really bumpy rides....

there's a ton of people on here that have painted their OE panels, I'm about to do mine (I have a bunch of scratched and worse off some nasty dings on my shifter panel which I need to hide - it's very ugly imo).

I painted the radio head, temp control, and center console. These pictures were taken with my phone so the quality isn't too good. I was not a big fan of the SR2 silver.

It pulls straight up, after removing the shifter knob. I took my time and carefully taped around the shift indicator part.

    Slow and easy.

Light sanding to rough up the surface. Not primmer, semi-gloss black Rust-Oleum for plastics I had on the shelf.
