Anyone ever remove the interior from the back???

Getting ready to tear down for murdermat install.... And wiring... But it's really looking like a headache compared to everything else I've done!?!?

 

Do you have an extra cab or regular cab?

I did it on the regular cab and it takes about ten minutes to take it all off. Just get a panel/trim removal tool if you want to eliminate breaking many (if at all) clips.

I'll dig up the pdf that shows how to remove it all. You have to start with the plastic trim piece over the padding on the rear wall. Then remove the padding, and work your way down...

 

Once you remove all the stuff off the rear wall, you can remove the rear quarter panels.

Pretty self explanatory when you're looking at it. Window hinges, coat hanger/hook, pop the seat belt brackets out and feed them through the hole...

Then it's a matter of a bunch of clips holding it on.

the panel removal tool is a must. I would also get a good small mat roller tool - not required, but helps a lot.

Once in there, this is a good time to replace your window latches if they are broken. You can also replace speakers easily.

One thing I remember when installling my dynamat: it was difficult to get some of the side panel studs to 'click' into the holes unless you trimmed the mat around the holes about a 1/2".

Like I said though, it's pretty self-explanatory once you start the project.

 

I already tore it all apart and wired all through for my amp I completely removed the passager side rear seat for the box amp will be mounted either on the box or under the back cushion behind the drivers seat....

 

Systematic disassembly. Take notes and pics to keep it in order for reassembly...
