Changed both my diffs to redline 75w85 today. Pretty dirty for only 3400 miles. And a good bit of metal on the magnetic drain plugs. I've probably got more 4wd miles than 90% of members though. And quite a few deep water crossings.

I take it, you have the breather-mod?
Did you find it to be low?

Topped mine off this weekend; @2,800 miles, 7/8-qt low in the rear, 1/2-qt low in the front.
Waiting on the Redline to show up so I can change mine.

yes, breather mod. I never bothered to check the level since I had to drain it anyway. Rear took 4qts to fill and front took around 1.7

Although I can do this myself, I will be taking it in to the dealer on Wednesday to have them check my MT fluid and front and rear diff fluid. My guess is that they will find it to be full at which point I will be checking it myself.

After seeing this, I wanted to check for myself even though my truck was at the dealership for the trans fluid issue and a couple other things.

Got my truck back from the dealership so I can knock this out and torque my U-bolts if needed (which they did). Bought some Redline 75w85 for the front and rear differentials and Redline 75w90 for my transfer case. Both the front and rear differentials were low, but the transfer case was ok. I drained all three and filled with new fluids. Didn't want to mix the front and rear by just topping off, and I wanted to get some good synthetic in three anyway. I replaced all my plug gaskets also.

I would, but my truck is back at the dealership for the low tranny fluid issue. There's some how-to's on here for the 2nd gen and it's exactly the same as the 3rd gen. Here's the link for the front and transfer case, the OP posted the link for the rear as well: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/front-diff-and-transfer-case-oil-change-howto.147631/

I checked front and rear differentials - both had proper fluid levels.
