20" wheels with 33s only have slightly less sidewall than the stock wheels and tires. People wheel on stock sizes all the time and don't have problems.

    Like, so many.
But anyone who really wheels is going for more sidewall than stock.

That all depends on what you think really wheeling is. Probably 90% of TW members could do all their offroading with a stock truck and get by fine, it's just not as much fun as playing big kid Legos putting a truck together.

Fair enough. But if you’re gonna go to the trouble of putting 33s on 20 inch wheels (CMC and pinch weld) I figure you want the advantages that come along with that.
With that combo, the tire itself is still going to look pretty small. It can be done, I’m just not sure why. 20 are ok on full size trucks, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen them on a midsized.

Thanks man! I’m still considering that I need a lift if I want to run 20’s, just doesn’t look right on stock suspension imo.

Can’t bring myself to run a RC or spacer lift, and dumping $3000 into a suspension lift seems kind of nuts if I don’t wheel much

I got you. Here's a photo of my 2016. It wasn't stock in this picture but this setup fits on a stock truck, it even fits on a lowered truck I actually have these wheels for sale if you're interested in getting some 20s for a steal. They're in good condition, one of them just has a small curb rash spot

Yeah I like your setup, what’s the specs on the wheels and tires? And how much?

Also, any info on the headlights? I read your build thread and saw they were project R, I’ve been contemplating doing the BHLM retrofit

Doesn’t the air deflector kind of defeat the purpose of the hood scoop?

But it’s a fake air deflector, so it would defeat the fake hood scoop, right?

They are 20x10 0mm offset American racing rims and 265/50r20 tires. I was looking to get 800 for the set with TPMS and tires. Tires are just about cooked but that's why the price is what it is
