Anyone have experience installing OME CS046RA/B leafs on a 2000 TRD SR5? Shop says they're too short

So I spent a bunch of time researching suspension upgrades, chose OME, and finally got the parts and took it into a Toyota dealership today to have them installed. Heard really good things about their suspension guy and was stoked to be getting it done. I got a call from them today saying I brought leafs in that were too short. 51" instead of 54". I hurried and called the cruiser outfitter I got the parts from, and they confirmed there are only one size. Called back to the shop, and the tech was going to try bolting it together, but it nervous about it tweaking the axle forward? I'm not super technical when it comes to this, so now I'm freaking out and a little worried. Not sure how to proceed.

Does anyone have an input as to what might be going on? Are they usually hard to install? Where would that 3" in appeared gap come from?

Any ideas would be suuuper helpful. Thanks

You have the right part number (s) just the wrong tech apparently.

Perhaps getting your truck back and parts of they haven't installed yet and looking into a possible MOD day in your immediate region.

Interesting... Do not have these springs but do plan on getting them in the future. Just checked on Amazon and the dimensions for those specific springs say 53.5 in....B48DB51A-57E6-4C91-80B3-C502AE37AC75.jpg I know for a fact those springs work and are specifically made for our trucks... Very weird.

Don't go off Amazon specs... Not always accurate.

Again, correct part numbers for our trucks. Leaf springs are not the issue. It's the dealer service department in OPs case.

To make it even more odd, I actually did get the A spring off Amazon. The B was the only one the local OME dealer had in stock. Of course now that this is happening I'm having that dreaded "did they send me the wrong leaf" thought in my head. I could have swore I read the right part number on it, but now I'm second guessing myself. I'm hearing back from the shop in the morning so I'll update then.

Find your region - see if anyone in your local area is having a mod day. If not, put out a request for assistance installing your Dakars. It's not that difficult and you'll almost always find someone locally willing to give you a hand. Especially if you're in a larger metro area.

I assure you - as long as you have the CS046RA / B part numbers, you have the CORRECT leaf packs for your truck

You have the right parts. I just installed these on mine a couple weeks ago. Techs just need to put a little elbow grease into it. Or give @Kwikvette a 6 pack and some money and let him do it lol

and more than a few tanks of gas... I think he's in Utah.

    UT General BS/Chat thread -

OP, if that doesn't work out, let me know and I can put together some install info. Really not difficult as long as you have some space to work in, floor jack with 4 jack stands, some basic tools and possibly access to a helper (additional set of hands makes the job a lot easier).

Oh yeah, let's skip going to UT.

There are plenty of threads with lots of pictures that'll prove to be very helpful if you decide to tackle the job yourself.

Didn't want to bore everyone here :anonymous:

Good to see that the tech figured things out. That looks really good

You may end up lowering the front a tiny bit as the rear will settle a bit after some time. That way things stay level.

If you go with bigger tires, I'd get a 3 degree shim to offset the rear axle a bit.
