Anyone know how to remove or loosen this cable tie doohickey?

Doing the DATA snorkel (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/different-approach-to-a-snorkel.266449/) and this thing:
has a tight grip on the wire bundle which needs to move for the impending 4” hole surgery...

 

I usually use a pick and hook set to help separate the ratcheting parts.

That and maybe a pair of needle nose pliers. If you understand how cable tie work, then you'll know where to stick the pick tool.

The correct way is to have an absolute melt down with a few choice words thrown in. Be sure it’s loud enough for the neighbors to hear.

That way one of the neighbors can walk over and unclip it in 3 seconds. Lol

 

I got it off... (“Phrasing.” “Are we still doing phrasing?”), but even though I know how it works I still mangled it.

 

If it won’t tighten up. Cut off the mangled part. Then run a zip-tie around and through the hole where the mangled part went in.
