I have my fire extinguisher mounted in the bed of the truck. I guess it can be done with a can of anti-bear spray.

P.S. For fire extinguishers; I did some research before mounting it in the bed of the truck. Check for the UR rating. They test in way extreme of their rating. For the fire extinguishers to get a 120 degree rating UR tests it at something like 180 for 7 days continuous. I have had a the extinguisher in the bed of the truck under a black rollup for 2 years plus. No issues with it exploding or leaking (gauge still shows in the green).

FWIW the can I have has an explicit warning to not expose to temps over 120 degrees....solo...summer time in the southeast when it's 115 outside...imagine what it's like inside the vehicle

Maybe not a rupture, but a slow leak around the seal still releases the hellfire from within the can into your truck

I once had a fire extinguisher roll around in the back of my taco, and it exploded on me. Probably top ten most unpleasant things to happen while driving.

Can you keep one of those little containers of it in your pocket or center console or door storage, like women keep in the purse?

You can't keep an unloaded gun with ammo in the glovebox or center console?

I don't know why but this whole thing makes me laugh or chuckle, lol.

Are you a security guard? Not that it matters, but the whole secrecy about it has me curious.

I have a hard time imagining you work in government security and your first post in this thread was what it was.

That said, hope you find some solution. Don't hurt yourself.

Not all security positions are armed especially when it's working with kids and since I have my truck posted up here it would make it easy to find who I am. Part of my job is too get onsite In my personnel vehicle at around 5 in the morning then wait for their parents to drop them off and then wait for a bus to pick them up. This all happens on government property no fire arms allowed. We have our own PD protocol is if some nut shows and tries to kill us call our PD or 911 and wait for help. So I would be easier to keep my job if I had to defend myself with pepper spray and or a flashlight again since we work with kids and we can't harm our wonderful future high school drop outs. I mean come on guys I ask a legitimate question that could also benefit other members. If it's not feasible then just say and I appreciate those that said that and that provided good reasons why that's a bad idea. Also the more shit I can mount on my truck the more tacticool I look

If you do end up placing a mount in your truck for some spray, a windshield sun reflector can go a long way to keeping interior temps down in the sun. I kept a both spray and a taser in my car. The taser ended up warping due to interior temp in glove box. I would suggest under your driver's seat instead.

I left California, so now I just carry. :infantry:

I have a fire extinguisher in my cab mounted in the backseat area using some quickfists clamps, seems to be ok,it's good and solid. Keep bear spray and a fire extinguisher in the bed with a canopy. The fire extinguisher is mounted, the bear spray is on my day pack, both seem fine.I don't go camping or hiking without bear spray and my sidearm.

It came about in the early 2ks, there are a couple websites dedicated to it.

One of my favorite posts "if taking multiple .338s to your back is plan A, you really need to think up a plan B"

I've seen extinguishers go off in cars before, I don't keep any compressed gases in the truck.

In canada we need purpose to our defense devices, so if theres a baseball bat, there better be a ball and glove.

Crap , now I'm worried about it. I've known guys that have had fire extinguishers in jeeps for years.

I no I'm a little nervous now, but I build high end yachts for a living,50',60'. We are required by the Coast Guard to have so many fire extinguisher on board. There is one in every stateroom, plus one in the main salon, all are mounted in a closet. Plus there is a fire suppression system in the engine room,it gets hot in there.
