So, every thread I read says upgrade to 265-75 tires from the stockers. Is there anyone that's REGRETTED moving to the larger diameter tire? Why? Disregard speedo/odo arguments. I already know all about that.

How much mileage did you lose?

The mileage loss is more dependent on the tire you get than the size. For example some mud terrains are like 50 lbs/tire while regular street tires are probably more like 35 and this will affect you more than the size difference.

No regrets here, my spedo is still right on. The only thing that has changed is my gas milage dropped a little but that isn't a concern for me.

I got great gas mileage with the lightweight Konig Countersteer wheels and 265/75/16 duratracs in load C. 18-20 mpg average per tank consistently. Light steering and good acceleration.
But... I went to 285 recently. The loss of MPG is worth it.

    All the time!!!
265-75 I went with C's and have no regrets, but if you go E's your mileage will start to drop even more. If you'll go with 265's load range C it won't change that much at all, or it didn't for me, and 265's are big enough! Everybody said 285 when I was asking questions, boy I'm proud I went 265's!

My only regret with 265/70/17s was not just going with 285s.

Tire shop screwed up and put on 10 plys when i ordered standard load tires. Took them a couple days to get the ones i actually ordered in. Surprisingly i could really tell a difference in them. stiff ride and felt like it took more effort to get the truck rolling. Love the size on the truck tho compared to the 245 pizza cutters it came with.

I've run them in the P-rated and current Load Range E. Noticed about 1-2 mpg loss between the two and no significant loss coming from the stock 265/70/16 to the P-rated 265/75/16. My only regret is not going with 255/85/16 :D

I went with Toyo OC AT2 LT 265 75R16 E rated. Love the look, love the ride, love the performance. Glad I didn't go with 285s, just don't need them or the hassle of adjusting fitment.

It's good to see that nobody seems to regret going with 275s and beyond. I would think gas mileage would be affected quite a bit. I like the looks of the bigger tire even though I'm still running 245s and most of my miles are at highway speeds so I'm reluctant to change due to gas mileage concerns.

Looking forward to seeing more responses...

I chart my mileage and run the same route weekly. I am very happy with the look of my C load 265/75/16 over stock 265/65/17. The new Cooper Adventurer ATs are not too aggressive and ride
    Fine on pavement.

Unfortunately, my mileage took a huge hit. I usually get 390-415 miles to a tank. Now I'm lucky if I make it to 350 miles. It's a bummer, especially on long trips. I already drive like a grandpa so I don't know what else to do.

    21.1 x 2= 42.2 mile reduction in tank range.
