Since moving out here to the Las Vegas area, I've noticed a lot of people have carpet installed on their dashboard. I've even seen a dealership that provides this service. I get the idea behind it, to save the dash from the heat of the sun, but it looks so tacky! Anyone else feel the same?

I put a dash mat on my truck. I didn't think I would like it at first, but as it has been on there for 6months now I don't really even notice it. I like it ok, but I know it will protect my dash in the long run. Especially since I live in the freakin' desert of AZ!!!

My sister in law has that stuff on her 1st gen. She got the truck from her grandparents who live in NM and they had it on there.

I just use a sun shade.
