Also, I'd like to add that, when making the choice between 2nd Gen and 3rd gen, consider the quality of folks you have owning either. For example, the only people who have ever been a total jackass to me on this forum have been 2nd gen owners. Therefore I think it's fair to assume that the majority of 2nd gen owners must be jackasses. Yep. Glad I traded for the 3rd gen.

*edit* except for that Blue T guy, he owns a 3rd gen, right?

Also I'm being completely sarcastic. Better point that out before the 2nd gen jackasses jump me again.

I'm pretty sure Blue T drives a powder blue Prius and wears big ass sunglasses over his regular bifocal glasses. Just an FYI James, not all 2nd Gen owners are assholes! I was an asshole way before owning either of my 2nd Gens.... just ask my wife! But alas, I have calmed down in my old age..... not!

Thanks for the good responses and even the uncalled for responses... and yes ive owned one vehicle before this, so i just want to make sure its the right decision. Now i just have to decide between TRD OR or Sport and whether or not to get MGM or BPP as the color.

Hey, I owned an '06 Taco and it was great for 10 friggin' yrs.. well maintained by my most trustworthy mechanic (ME)... all it cost me was an Alternator and I thru on new idler pulleys also...!! Only 1 warranty issue.... a bad shock 4 months off the showroom floor..!! Dealer never had the chance to mess with it...

I got the '16 cause I liked the new design and cuz I can afford it..! Absolutley love the truck...!! I think it will prove to be a "keeper" like my '06 was.....

Second gen was good... I hope this gen is better...OR... at least as good....(minus the bad frame issue)..hehe

Small issue after about 300Km. Passenger window will not close tight. It gets to around 3/4" from the top but stops. Likely just slipped in the track or something, but its back at the dealer now getting fixed. Hopefully not a sign of things to come. Never had any issues with any other Taco I've owned...

Thanks, my wife thinks I love my truck more than her. She's tired of hearing how much I love this truck!

I love my truck. 6000 miles, multiple trips to multiple states through rain, mud, dirt, snow, ice, etc... No problems, except that one of my fogs was defective. When I took it in for the 5k mile service, I did not tell them about the fog being out. They discovered it, ordered me a new one, and are replacing it this week free of charge (warranty covers it).

Note: I did replace my stock tires with BFG KO2s

I traded a 2011 sport double cab which was the best. The third gen is an upgrade.
