I have been looking at some 265/70/17's which are stock on my 2016 4x4 4runner. I just noticed that BFG has recently introduced a new blackwall KO'2. The normal KO2's with outlined white letters are 46lbs. For some reason, the new blackwall KO's are only 44lbs. Most of us just mount the white letters in anyway, but now you can save 2lbs also.

To get a great load C LT tire like the KO2 that only weighs 44lbs is fantastic. I called Discount Tire and they are not in their system yet, but once they are, I think I will be buying some.

Saw those about a month ago when looking that they made a black wall only version. But if you go to the BFG site I believe the tire weight is the same. Don't quote me. I went with the standard whitewall in/black wall out.

I just went to BFG's site and it shows the blackwall at 45.7 and the regular outlined letter at 45.5. Looks like Tirerack had a misprint.

I kinda like my white letters, but that's just me...

OP, I did go to the link but also saw 3 versions of the tire on BFG website and when I asked my dealer to order the black lettering model like I saw on their website They said they were unavailable as well about 1.5 months ago.

If you really want the black lettering only and can wait go for it. I couldn't wait so I am fine with both color sidewalls being available.

    Can't go wrong either way.

I have no problem just putting the lettering in if that is what I decide, I personally think it looks great either way. I was just excited about weight savings, that is why I posted the thread. My local shops have never heard of blackwall KO2's, I found it weird Tirerack has them in stock.

    Thanks everyone for the replies.
