    gunbroker.com is a good place to look if your serious bout buying one. its basically an ebay for guns. ive bought a few guns off of it. great ppl there.

    yeah dude, 1911's are easy to fine....although most that I know who own one would never sell it. I would never sell mine anyway.

    Yeah, I'll try the gunbroker.com thing sounds cool. I'm not looking for a show piece more something that I can put in the night stand just in case, or something to take out while camping or what not. I have been looking for a nice 1911 for a while, and yes they are tough to come by

    Before you buy one, ask your local gundealer how much they charge to transfer a gun in from out of state. For the few I've asked, it's almost as expensive as just buying it from the dealer to begin with (Turners charged about $100 + the registration fee). Also, I don't know if the 15 day waiting period for a handgun applies when they receive the gun from the seller or if it starts from when you buy it.
