I know this isn't pizza, but it was supposed to be. These are the ingredients meant for a pizza that I threw together with pasta at the last minute..

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the pizza dough from cutting board into a cast iron pan? What's your method? Sounds ridiculous, but I couldn't do it...as soon as I tried to transfer it, it lost all its shape and just became a mess of a ball in the hot cast iron. Basically ruined it. Store bought dough from Trader Joes, that I rolled into shape. I did this once before and it worked fine, not sure what happened this time...

I spread a layer of cornmeal on the peel then shape it, once you are ready to slide it off jiggle the peel till the dough moves. Then position it over the castiron, quickly slide the peel away and it should slide into cast iron

I make pizza at least once a week. Tonight I used last night's left-over meat loaf as a topping. Turned out pretty good. I grow a pretty good garden, and do a lot of home canning. This year I canned up a bunch of half pint jars of pizza sauce. A half pint is just about the perfect amount of sauce for a 12 inch pizza. It takes me less than five minutes to mix up the dough. I let it rise an hour or two, then start preheating the oven. I can usually get the dough rolled out and the pizza made by the time it finishes preheating. It's actually one of the easiest meals I make.

And don't be stingy with it, you need a pretty good layer.

Hey everyone. Been following this thread for a while and recently started making my own pizza, too. You guys make some great looking stuff! Here are two I made this week. We've got your classic pepperoni and onion, although it looks like the pepperoni tried to make a run for it.
    20200116_025323.jpg

And my favorite. Chicken and banana peppers with a garlic base.

That second one sounds tasty! I'll have to try that. Maybe tonight!

    What's in the garlic base?

I can't take any credit for it. It's just a garlic butter spread that I got at the grocery store. It's the same stuff they put on their garlic bread in the bakery.

I hope you enjoy it if you do end up making it. My family thought it was weird until they tried it and then it was the first pizza to get eaten up. Haha.

The CGG bought a Jack's thin crust pepperoni frozen pizza. $2.50. Never tried one before. CGG was gonna pile on more toppings, I put my foot down (asked nicely), let's just bake it and see how it tastes. No need to waste more food. I really though it would suck. It was good, damned good! CGG at more of it than I did, which gives it her stamp of approval.

    A $2.50 supper, huh.
