The basic parts are available online guys. You need to able to solder to install anyway and if you can do that you can put it together. Two of the three key elements (the 24 and 28-pin jumpers) are already made up, the third is the 5-pin relay that toggles the video feed. By the time you understand how to do the install youll be seeing the connections in your dreams. While I'd MUCH prefer that JJ do these since he had a system down pat, there's really no reason not to just do it. None of the work results in any permanent changes to the oem harness so getting in over your head carries little risk other the than embarassment of asking for help. I do have to say that JJ wasnt making very much on these, the only way to do that would be mass production which doesn't mean a few sales a week. So if/hopefully when he does return, jump on it, it's a great deal. On that great day(or asap thereafter) I'll joyfully delete this post.

I'm not now nor will I ever be making these, nor will I be jacking this thread with how to's, that information already exists so do a search and read, you need to understand it with or without a kit.

I have spent some time searching through the threads and a up-to-date, good full pin-out/wiring diagram to build your own with all the current features found doesn't exist.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at his or jj's latest cables to break them down into a good set of diagrams.

I believe Hoangde has a schematic available that he posted in his other thread, but whatever alterations JJ did are unavailable so far.

the schematic released was released a while ago, he made changes since then and has the two wire group setup ("HAI cable" / "Add-on" cable) which allows for some other features.

I'm just trying to avoid direct plagiarism since anyone who's made this puchase has the info. JJ provides it with each kit and while there may be no patents on any of this it would still be low to share it without consent regardless of who thought of it first. I'd have to compare schematics to see what differences there are. I do know the jumpers are available and would be greatly surprised if the pin outs were not listed elsewhere in cyberspace.

Information should be free and openly available, doesn't matter who came up with it first, this is just figured out information and bypasses to a oem wire harness not copyrighted works like a video-game or a book.

What i would like to do is get the information and collect it into a single updated set of schematics and diagrams(electrical and overview) and share it openly and freely. all the info is already out there and available already on this site and other places as was previously in the thread. it would be nice for the community to have a cleaned up updated resource for this mod.

This is correct, and probably what JJ would say as well if he were talking currently. Nobody is trying to steal anything, it is all open source information.

Does anyone have this installed along with the 12Volt.Solutions plug and play remote start? Or does anyone know if they would work together? I want to get the remote start but was wondering if they would interfere with each other.

I agree but this being JJ's thread would rather see it happen elsewhere while still allowing him to pick up where he left off since many if not most will still want a kit.

I've compared the schematics and they both do the same thing only one uses a dpdt switch to toggle the video feed and the other uses a relay. Signaling the head unit to display the camera feed its reversed but a single relay and two switches are used in both versions. I believe either one could be done with a single on/off/on switch but those aren't available in the oem style for the center console area and it would take a new switch pcb design and some clever 3D printing to make one.

Need some insight. When I attach the power wire to the camera, the part circled gets extremely hot. That can't be good. I have it grounded to the truck and an add-a-fuse plugged in the mirror heater fuse under the hood. Any idea why it gets so hot?
