How difficult is it to install the front camera? I’m kicking myself for hesitating on buying a kit when JJ was still making it and now I really want one. Almost hit a car the other day and this would have helped immensely.

I already had rear camera so it was 100 plus a front camera. The front camera is well worth the cost parking or wheelin

I bought one of these a while ago when JJ was still making them and didn’t have any issue for a couple months. Then, I started having an intermittent issue where my rear camera wouldn’t come on even when I put the truck in reverse. Now it is happening significantly more often (~50% of the time).

Anybody experience this? Short of uninstalling it and trying it out, I’m not sure what to do next.

intermittent function sounds like a loose connection or bad ground rather than a fried component. You probably do need to remove/reinstall it. While you have it out feel the jumper to see if you can detect a bad connection. That's what lets either the computer or your switch signal the head unit that the camera should be active.

I've had this same issue. It's the connections in the back of the headunit not sitting fully connected. Remove the headunit and wiggle the connections until you find the one that needs work. Mine just needed to be pushed in a little bit further.

Damn. I'm having the same exact issue. Randomly the back and front cameras stop working all together. Seems to be when the truck has been heated up (Cold as hell here). Anyone find an actual fix for this? Other than wiggling the connection around?

It sounded like one of the head unit plugs was not completely snapped in. The fix is make sure they're all pushed in all the way. If it were the rca plugs you could tape or heat shrink them. One of my jumper cables doesn't click in but still works so I suspect a problem might be how the connector(s) are made up in which case the fix might be a new connector or reworked pins.
