@mrmiguelm yea. I swapped it, that didn’t work. I also thought my video feed cablesmay have been reversed but that did t fix it either. I ordered the harness from anytimebackup website to compare and I’ll connect their switch to it and try to see what the difference is.

Would the diode ever become faulty? I'm no electrician by any means, but that was one of the problems I ran into when I was installing jj kit with a single rocker switch

I guess it’s possible. Not sure how to check though.

Thanks, I have a multimeter at home so I might try checking that this weekend.

One thing I’ve noticed is that since changing switches, I don’t hear the click of the relay behind the dash like I used to when I hit the front camera switch. I wonder if I spliced a 12v wire into the green switch lead along with the red wire from the harness relay if that would solve the problem. Although now that I think about it, that might just activate the relay all the time.

It’s no longer in production. See around page 30 of this feed. Anytimebackupcamera.com is my next option

Where would you put the diode when using this switch?

So, I had this same setup for a while (anytimecameras) It served me well! With that said it took me and a friend an evening to get it all dialed in ... diode.. switches.. wiring.. power to the switches.. power to illuminate... blah blah blah. I sold it and replaced it with the car-solutions kit. I monitor this thread still and would advise to buy it. The anytime kit is awesome but if you are a DYIer like me. I struggled with it. The car-solutions kit literally took me less 20 minutes (I had my front camera already mounted on my pro grill). This kit takes the guessing and frustration out of it. If your good with electrical work and reading schematics then either kit would be fine. Downside of the car-solutions .... eBay/Amazon are always out and you have to buy from the company themselves over seas (took mine about 10 days). Hope this helps some of you and it’s just my two cents!

**A lot of the questions you guys have I ran into, but can’t give you a good solution bc my friend was gracious enough to lend a hand and knowledge.

Finished my front cam install. Went with the car solutions module and the Nikita Camera.

One of my favorite parts is it automatically switches to the front cam for 20 seconds when going from reverse to drive.

I dremeled out my grill a little bit so I could mount it in the center. I was not a fan of the offset mount.

The diode is built into the switch currently. I can see it in the back of the switch harness.

I emailed Brian at anytimebackupcamera.com and he helped me figure out my mistake. I had the female rca cables reversed and the video cable (small one on the right of the head unit had a loose connection. Got it squared away

I have one of JJ's kits that I am probably going to sell. I would sell it for what I have into it plus shipping, which is $65 plus shipping. Not sure if you are interested or not.

Edit: The kit has been sold and shipped!

If anyone can post a step by step of the car solutions kit install that would be amazing. Thanks!

Look up the OWL cam. I have it and it records and is a live feed to your phone. It alerts you when motion or any bump to you vehicle happens inside and out recording.
